Looks like ebay has begun pushing the poorly implemented non-standardized passkey system on numerous users.
Passkeys do not work for the majority of people, they are poorly implemented, every site and device treats them different, there is no standard interface/system to manage these. These are not being explained properly at all, the introduction is cornering people instead of offering an exciting new feature people can gently opt in to. This all makes passkeys unreliable as an alternative to passwords
Passkeys are also an enormous privacy violation, as law enforcement does not need a warrant to use your passkey connected biometrics like they would need to obtain your password.
People like myself will never use this passkey system. How can we permanently opt out of receiving these prompts to set up passkeys?
