Repeated Captcha requests might be a sign that your browser is having problems saving cookies properly, or else a sign of a network issue. Using a VPN or a hotspot, or certain kinds of privacy software might also cause some issues.

I do not think that most users are running into multiple Captcha requests per day on eBay -- I am not, though perhaps accounts involved in selling activities might trigger different security measures compared to buyer-centric accounts.

Try using a different browser or a private or incognito browser window and see if you run into the same Captcha issues. If not, try manually erasing just your eBay cookies manually in your original browser.

You know what irritates me about people like you is that you blame everything on the people using ebay rather than ebay. I see it repeatedly. It's not my browser, cookies, VPN or anything else on my computer. It's EBAY. Your help unless you are paid by ebay is not wanted in this matter.

Not sure how you look at some suggestions of things you can try and immediately assume that you are being "blamed".

If you know that the problem is on eBay's end, then there is nothing for you to do but wait patiently for eBay to fix it.

If I was experiencing your issue (I am not), then I would try a few things to rule out some problems that could be worked around. Sometimes there can be a problem on eBay's end, and there can also be a way to get around the problem by doing something differently -- without waiting for eBay to fix things. I might check online to see if many others are suddenly having the same problem, to see if there are other suggestions or workarounds. And if there are folks not having problems, perhaps I can learn something from what they are doing differently to find out how they are managing to avoid the issue.

If I am wrong, and the problem is actually on eBay's end and none of my attempts are successful, then I have wasted a bit of my time.

If you are wrong, on the other hand, and the problem is not on eBay's end, then you may be waiting patiently for a long time for something eBay cannot fix.

No one "paid by ebay" is going to see your rant here... we're all buyers and sellers on this forum who volunteer to wade through abusive comments like yours, while still endeavoring to help people who come here in need of advice.

It's not just how often, it's when. Why do I get a Captcha when I click on my feedback link? Or (best of all) when I try to log out?

For the record, I am using a VPN.

There are many reasons why a VPN might trigger trust and safety protection software of which Captcha is one example.

There are also situations where the reduced performance associated with VPNs may impact what you see on the Ebay site, including the number of listings displayed in a search.

Deciding to use a VPN is a tradeoff, the concept may seem clever, but it is an after the fact band-aid for the lack of security features on the Internet.

I receive the captcha all the time and multiple times a day. I am not on VPN. I use TMobile home internet. This has nothing to do with VPN. 

Sometimes it is when I login. The best is when is when I see it when I click logout. I just love that. I click logout and captcha pops up. It's so stupid it's funny.  I could understand it if it was account related. You click BID and boom CAPTCHA! You click logout, CAPTCHA! You click contact CAPTCHA!

Paypal used to do the same thing but they fixed it.
