Did you mean:

Pardon Our Interruption...

Has of today In received this message trying to enter ebay :

Pardon Our Interruption...

As you were browsing eBay, something about your browser made us think you were a bot. There are a few reasons this might happen:

You're a power user moving through this website with super-human speed.
You've disabled JavaScript in your web browser.
A third-party browser plugin, such as Ghostery or NoScript, is preventing JavaScript from running.

I usually use Firefox and this happened, tried in private and also shows up, used Edge it also shows up then opened my Laptop trying both browsers and it says the same. Read about this here on the community and seeing that I tried everything, even disabling ad block and clearing cookies and all, it looks like it is a ebay problem.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

Yes. Never have I ever seen this, except today. Seems to block the whole IP as changing machines, changing browsers gets me the same message.

They just block me the entire eBay, unbelievable.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

Are you using a VPN?

The issue may be related to your location or your network.

Are you able to sign in and search on other eBay sites such as ebay.com.au or ebay.co.uk?

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

Just noticed that at one moment eBay was in a redirect loop, which could explain why it thinks I'm a bot: they have a problem causing the redirect loop and this anti-bot system then kicks in as an unfortunate consequence, and blocks everyone.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

Yes it looks like my IP got block by Ebay, thinking that I'm a bot I suppose, so I sent a message to their customer service on this matter, hope I get a reply on this matter since this sucks.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

I couldn't help but notice that all 3 of you reporting this are located internationally. If I were to guess I would say that eBay might be tightening security because a lot of the scams on .com stem from international IPs. Not calling you 3 scammers - just caught up in this as a byproduct of the security measures.

Like I said, just guessing.

I've gotten that message before but that's because I was opening a lot of pages and navigating very quickly.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

When I saw your message an another below I tried the ebay.co.uk and I got in, I used the most was ebay.com, but seeing the message below saying that they are tightening security because of scams of international IPs probably consider go with a Ebay from Eu country.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

That was just a guess @tugarass but may have nothing to do with it.

The common thread I'm seeing is that all accounts reporting the problem on this thread & others are registered in a country other than the US and the issue is exclusive to .com so far.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

It is most likely not intentional -- I doubt eBay suddenly decided to block all users outside the US.

Possibly a change somewhere is having the unintended effect of causing the security software to block innocent users based on some as-yet-unknown-to-me network factor.

A broken redirect could certainly cause a loop that would trigger a bot message.

devon@ebay

A lot of users registered outside the US seem to be suddenly unable to reach ebay.com and are getting a  bot message from Distil. See the original post for details of that message.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

Not really, Trying to open pages other than .com doesn't work, either. As I logged in to be able to reply though, from my profile or what I was able to browse.

I ran into this error today for the very first time and it's only the eBay pages that keep furiously reloading so I dare say it's not the case that I have transformed into "a bot" in the meantime.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

First time I enter ebay in a few weeks and I got greeted by the same crap.

I tested clearing cookies and rebooting my router to get a new IP worked.

But then when entering ebay, it instantly did a reloading loop that went for 3-5 seconds... and ended with the same error screen.

And seems it is something related to non US addresses, I'm using Mexico's largest telecom, TELMEX.

And yes, Chrome, Edge and Firefox all react the same.

What page are you on or what link are you following that leads to the reloading? That, most likely is what is causing Distil to think you are a bot. If you can avoid whatever is causing the redirect, you may be able to avoid the message.

Do you get the bot message if you go directly to ebay.com by typing that into the browser address bar without using a bookmark or link?

If the main ebay.com page does not work, can you reach the site map page instead?

https://pages.ebay.com/sitemap.html

Since you can sign in to the community, can you use the link under the picture icon in the upper right of this page to reach your My eBay page and bypass the reloading?

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

Hey folks, I found some sort of workaround that worked for me.

I clicked on my profile, it let me go to ebay. I searched from there and I could search what I was looking for.

Not sure if the dumb protection system that ebay uses and is broken right now, is only installed on the main root page.

*edit*

Oh Lord, I just noticed other people mentioned the workaround. I'm dumb.

Re: Pardon Our Interruption...

Miracle !!!

Same problem while trying to enter ebay from PC of mobile phone

But then, instead of trying to enter www.ebay.com,   i choose on of my previous links directly to my ebay watchlist

And problem solved ! (at least for now)
