It’s not you. It’s us. Our server is down, but we’ll have things back to normal soon. If you still need help, visit our help pages. This is the message I got when I tried to get to listing tonight. I wish I knew how they define soon. How annoying, and frustrating. Just another Ebay experience.

I find that 99.99% of the time, it is indeed ME and not THEM. They're just being polite. 

Try all the usual practices like logging out and back in, clearing your cache, closing and reloading your browser, etc., or even deleting eBay cookies, if you want to go that far. You could even switch to another browser. Chances are one of those approaches will remedy whatever's wrong.

Often when I encounter that error message, it is the result of using a bad link. If there is an alternative way to get to the same destination, try that. Or try the same link on the Canadian or UK site.

If you suspect that eBay is actually down, try checking with one of the monitoring sites such as downdetector:

https://downdetector.com/status/ebay/

If there is no big spike in complaints, then either the outage is temporary, very limited or there is some other issue at work.
