No help from eBay

I have tried repeatedly to contact eBay about an item that I never received, but I'm getting railroaded by automation.  They won't allow me to contact them - I tried for over an hour today, but keeping getting railroaded into a dead end (very frustrating).  Seller will not respond to any of my messages, eBay won't allow me to report it.  eBay's 'Help & Contact' is zero help but I can't find a way to contact anyone at eBay offices directly to talk to me -- all automated and no help.  Is there a direct email, contact around the automation?

No help from eBay

Why are you trying to contact eBay? All you need to do is go to the item you purchased in your purchase history. Click the More Actions drop-down menu click I didn’t receive it. Follow the prompts.

 The seller will have 2 days to upload tracking into the case or respond with a message. If the sellers doesn’t respond on day 3 you can have eBay step in to help get your refund.  
If the estimated date of delivery past and you are over the 30 day threshold to open an INR. Then you can go to PayPal if that’s how you paid to file a chargeback. You have 180 days to do so. If you used a credit card file a charge back with the card issuer. Credit cards may give you more or less time to file depending on their TOS.

No help from eBay

You do NOT need them. Anyway, if you do reach them , they are going to tell you what the other poster stated.  I am going to explain it differently for you.   Go to MY ebay.  Go to Purchases and find your item.  Then somewhere there , you should see something like Is there a problem or Open a case.   Click it and OPEN AN ITEM NOT ARRIVED CASE.   Follow the prompts.  

   Oh, before you open the case,  see if there is a tracking number and does it say DELIVERED?  IF yes, don't open a case yet.  Come back here for further directions.  Also let us know if the item was pricey and the seller's feedback score.

Before you open any case, was the item shown shipped and if so was it marked delivered? If it was marked delivered, you would not open item not received, you would lose. If, that is not the case, then follow the instructions given above.

If that's not working for you then tell us why. Is the problem opening a claim, escalating a claim, something else?

 

 

Item not received claims are generally automated, nothing needed from the buyer other than a couple clicks. If your situation doesn't fit that automation then tell us why and we can offer more specific advice or the best CS paths to pursue.

 

You said, "eBay won't allow me to report it" which hints at a couple of possible scenarios: 1. maybe the latest estimated delivery date hasn't passed yet (you'll have to wait for that date to file a claim) or 2. it's been way too long and you're past the window to file a claim or 3. maybe your account lost MBG coverage.
