There is no "switch back" to original message inbox in the lower right hand corner. I filled out the survey that exists in the lower right hand corner. But how long does that take? Or will it be the same message about the lower right hand corner? I'm using the most updated form of Chrome on a windows desktop.
I'm old people. I do not use a cell phone as primary communication. I type 160 wpm on a real keyboard. There's no reason to change to this new form operated by Java as opposed to the older way. If you're going to do it, do it right, seriously.

Ahh, so you figured out the code is written so the new message flow works well on a mobile device?
From what I understand there will be no more going back to the older version. We will be stuck with this one.

A survey takes between 5 days and 2000 years. There is no 'time' set up on a survey. If enough sent it in, they may 'change it'. Most are used to it as that is how most emails are set up going forward so doubtful anything will change.

On my Outlook email program I can see at least 30 emails per page and I never use the Preview pane, I can adjust the widths of columns on Outlook to meet my needs.
I have yet to figure out if this new flow can be sorted by member name, date, etc like the last one. I used that from time to time.
The older eBay messaging allowed 12 items viewed per page, the new format 8, mainly because they added Avatars which forces coding to set a minimum "height" per message, completely a waste of space and unnecessary.
I can zoom in and out on pretty much all other pages on all other programs and websites I use, the new page layout does not permit zooming in and out. That is a nice feature for those who may need larger text to read.
They also took away the city and state of the sender, info I used on a regular basis, as have others. Now from what I understand that info is only available via the email one gets and some clicks to get it are involved, NOT eBay messaging.
I applaud changes that improve things, this misses the mark on a few key points.

I personally believe Ebay created this system not just for mobile users, but so they can run word parsing programs easier to hinder those who are offering to buy or selling outside of ebay. This sucks, because I am using my special Paypal finance and you can only use it on Auctions or BuyitNow listings. In the past few months before the messaging system, I would just ask the seller if they would accept a certain offer, and they'd make a link or change the page, so I could quickly add to cart and pay for it. Now, I can't mention the word, "offer" as the message system doesn't allow that word. Ebay still got paid, so I don't understand why I can't barter with the seller in message, and if they like it, they create a new listing link so ebay and they get paid.
That's what I think is truly going on. Others I've noted say to look at the bottom right of any page, so that we can return to the older message inbox, but it's not there, like the mods have been apprised of on these boards.
Sigh.. I hate Christmas shopping.
