I had a listing earlier this year that I took down because I was affected by fires in Los Angeles. A user reached out to me and said they would be willing to wait however long to purchase the item. We've been communicating since February. We spoke last month with updates on when I could list it again for him to buy as I go home soon. Today I tried to reply and reach out but keep getting a message saying "Looks like something went wrong. Please try again later." I've tried my phone, my iPad, and my laptop. I've tried using just cell data and nothing. I've been trying for 10 hours. I've tried contacting through their profile and select "This is not about an item" and it takes me to our conversation but I get the same error. What do I do? I'm going to lose this sale. I went ahead and listed it in hopes he will see it and contact me.

The glitch does not seem to be a wide spread one or many others would have posted about it. Given your location I have to wonder if as part of the Tsunami preparations, someone tripped the wrong switch. We would need to hear back from you since this part of ebay messaging is working.

In the past it was possible to start a new conversation if an old conversation was blocked because the item it was regarding was no longer listed, but with the new threaded messaging, this appears to no longer be the case. Attempting to start a new conversation just brings up the older, blocked conversation.
You should probably use the "Messaging Feedback" link on your Message Inbox page to report the issue to eBay.
If you have eBay messages forwarded to your email address, see if you can reply to the original email directly, not by using the blue "reply" button in the message body that would take you back to your eBay message inbox. Replying directly to the email might work differently than using the message system.

Do you have their user ID? If so, you should be able to plug it in at the end of this link and then use the Contact button near the top right (after that snn= at the end; no spaces or anything).
