Listing Enhancement Request: Photo Editing

I'm not sure if this is the best way to request a feature, but it would be SOOOO helpful in the photo editing tool to have a one-click option to create a 1:1 (square) crop. I take my photos vertically and when I edit them I have to guess when the crop is an exact square. It would just be so much quicker to click a button that creates the square crop automatically.

Thank you!

Not sure if you'll find this helpful @tangerine_trading_post , but when I take product photos I adjust camera settings to take square pics. Eliminates a lot of edit work.

Wouldn't it be quicker to just take square photos so you wouldn't have to crop?

Thanks! I will give that a try. Sometimes I do need more than a square ratio to fit everything in the picture, but I like to have the square option for the first photo -- though I'm not consistent about editing them all!

Potentially! But sometimes I do need a different ratio to fit it all in and the square is most important for the first photo. I use a DSLR camera and I will have to see how to manage those settings on the camera.

If you'd rather not adjust your camera settings, you can do what we do when we need a square crop:

Open the cropping tool. Use any of the 4 circles in the corners to adjust the crop to be the smallest possible size - this will be a 1:1 perfect square. Now, hold shift while you drag any corner circle of the cropping frame to make it a larger size. As long as you hold the shift key any time you adjust the size, it will maintain the same ratio and you can resize and reposition the area to be cropped without losing the perfect square. Hope this helps!
