While trying to contact a seller through purchase history regarding an item received today, ebay asks me to verify my humanity. I checked the box then also had to "choose all the buses." Then was asked to login and was directed to the homepage. This is a continuous loop. I tried to reach the seller from the item page itself. Same thing. I attempted to reach the seller through another listing. Same thing. I've tried two browsers on my laptop, used my desktop...same thing. I am not using pop-up blockers or VPN. The app is difficult for me to use due to the screen size so I have not, and can't really, effectively contact seller this way. Is anyone else having this problem? I've tried several different times today. Peace 🙂

Then was asked to login and was directed to the homepage. This is a continuous loop.
If you have a social media account linked to your eBay account, you may be able to avoid that loop by signing in using your Apple, Google or Facebook account. Some users have indicated that that is one way to sign in without triggering such a loop.
You can also try reaching the seller by going directly to the seller's feedback or profile page and using the "contact" link there to compose a new message.

They asked for your 'humanity' and to 'choose all the buses'?!? I don't understand. Does anybody else?

In an attempt to verify that the user is a person and not just a computer executing a script, there are various verification tests as part of the sign-in process. One of the simplest tests is to check a box indicating you are human, but there are other tests such as identifying images from a set that match a pattern. Those tasks are generally easy for a person (unless the images are poor), but tend to be very difficult for a machine to accomplish without significant programming.

Hi - thanks for the info. I did try the seller's page but went sent right back to the loop and don't use social media logins. Looks like the problem is fixed. It was a 24 hour panic though. I appreciate your time!!! 🙂

You are very welcome -- glad to hear you are able to sign in again.

yes, typical challenge. Failing for me, too.

What browser are you using? Is it the latest version?
Try another browser and see if that makes a difference.
Many things can also affect verification: blocking cookies, blocking JavaScript, using certain privacy software settings, using a VPN or a hotspot, or certain add-ons like ad blockers or script blockers.
Try a different sign-in link or sign-in method as described earlier in the thread.
