This is a very frustating issue, with the biggest issue in my mind being that one cannot determine whether an item is accurately described or not if they unable to view the specific listing description.
I have found a few workarounds, but eBay needs to address this ASAP.
Workaround #1: if there is a blue bar that says "The listing you're looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you", then click the word listing and you should be able to view the original description in the normal layout.
Workaround #2: if there is an info signal followed by "the selected item is no longer available", then search the item number in the mobile app. This appears to be a desktop only issue.

I too just sold an item, and I can't get to the original auction page anymore. Instead it takes me to a
"The selected item is no longer available" page with a DIFFERENT seller's listing of a similar item.
This is a big problem for me. I sell many items with similar titles, and when I sell something, I need to see the original auction page to verify I am shipping the correct item to my buyer.
To see the original page, I now have to go to Seller Hub and click to relist the item. After I see a preview listing to get the information I need, I have to remember to close the window so that I don't accidentally relist an item that I don't actually have to sell.
This seems like a backward way of doing it. Can this be fixed so that ended item pages are still available to view? It was good before, why change it to something more complicated?
Also as a buyer this seems like a potential problem. I recently bought a charger cord for my computer and I received something that looked nothing like the photo. If that happened today, I wouldn't be able to see the original page to verify that I did in fact receive the wrong item.
