Immediate payment with best offer tech issue

As we all know some people are being forced to input their payment info before sending offers - great - I'm all for that.  My issue - yesterday I received an offer from someone - and in the details it said the little blurb that you will get paid immediately and buyer gave payment info - so I accepted ... annnnnd no payment comes.  I'm really hoping ebay techs see this.  This is the 4th time this same situation has happened. 4th time in like 3 weeks. I'll get an offer and it says buyer payment is in and you'll get paid immediately -- but no payment right away.   Are buyers finding a loop around this or something? I don't know .. It's becoming incredibly annoying though. What is the point of having immediate payment with best offer if it's not working?

At the moment the immediate payment for auctions and offers only applies if both the buyer's account is part of eBay's test program, and the seller has the option checked in the buyer requirements.

It is not clear how many buyer accounts are part of the test program.

Immediate payment with best offer tech issue

I won some auctions this week and weeks before and eBay did not take any instant payments from me. I was able to decide which credit card I wanted to use and everything.

So it appears it is a select few who are maybe getting tested.

Another ebay "improvement" ends up failing. I've suggested to eBay on several occassions within the last week to force the "test" on new buyers or those with 50 or lesss feedback (rather than well-established buyers that have been on here for 12 years with 100% feedback). Dealing with eBay is like dealing with a stubborn politician and it goes nowhere. Of course, scammers and grifters will find a way around eBay's "improvement" and will continue to. Until enough sellers contact them and demand a logical process, eBay will just continue to roll out more and more failures. I'm guessing they don't want to offend new patrons so they impose ridiculous procedures like this. I'm debating just cutting the cord with them and going somewhere else. There are other marketplaces out there.

Be glad you're not one of the lucky ones to be placed in the "improvement" basket. I bid on several items with the same seller often in order to get combined shipping but that is now gone. I have informed the sellers and all but one were even unaware of this. If you read more discussion boards, you'll see some sellers are now realizing why they are not getting their regular profits on auction items and rightly upset. There are some that think it is OK but needs tweaking. Me, I believe it is a disaster. Why not put new buyers or low feedback buyers into this "improvement" rather than well-established buyers/sellers with 100% feedback? Stay tuned tomorrow for the next eBay "improvement"

I'm one and it blows. Can't get combined shipping if I win several auction items. I haven't bid since. There are other marketplaces out there with cheaper fees.

I've been on here 12 years with 100% feedback but was lucky enough to be in their "improvement."

Until sellers start seeing smaller profits and demand ebay wakes up, this will continue to spiral downwards.

Immediate payment with best offer tech issue

Hi, dont like this immediate payment option for Best Offers.  I like to go back and forth sometimes with the dealer and get better prices (we can come to an agreement and such).  Also, I want to get the shipping the way I want it, and not have Ebay  go with default shipping options.   When the best offer come up, and it wants payment method,  I refuse to put in a payment method.  So,  I  dont make offers, I just go ahead and bid what I'm willing to pay.   We should go back to the way it was or dont have best offers.  Its not like Im not going to pay, I've been on Ebay nearly 20 yrs with 100% positive feedback. I Should get something for that. Besides I usually pay within 24 hrs....

I sometimes use prepaid gift cards to make payments, and dont always have the cards listed in the payment line up.  "By the way, my prepaid cards will not work any more for some reason???"  Those cards worked just fine a few weeks before.  My guess the system is broke?  Ebay is broke.  Anybody's sales doing any good..... mine have dropped off to almost nothing in the last several weeks?

Seems I have been put into this. Found out when trying to bid last night. It wont accept my paypal. It only wants my credit card or bank card.  Also no option to combine shipping this way or wait for combined invoice.  I always paid in 18 years and this is how I am treated. Less is more when it comes to sites having card numbers. I decided I'm done with ebay unless this goes away or they allow paypal to work. I am probably not the only buyer who is stubborn like this. Plenty of marketplaces out there that will still take my PayPal.
