Hello,
I'm wondering what the current method is for reporting price gouging. The option of "Price Gouging" has been removed from the "Report Item" drop down it seems.
Why is this still an issue on ebay? Price Gouging should be addressed.
Thank you

What some think is "price gouging" does not fall under the definition of price gouging.
What is the item?

I do agree with doing this, but the issue is that resellers buy up items from retailers, then list them on ebay for higher prices. An option to report these issues had been added, but has since been removed. What is the proper method now?

That is the issue it seems. Some states have laws for price gouging, other's do not. Who enforces any of this? What is unreasonable?
That may not be for me to decide, but it seems to me that buying up all preorders from retailers and reselling on ebay for double the price is a shady business practice. It may be legal in some cases, but not in other cases.
There was a guy who was busted for buying up hand sanitizer in one state. We've seen stories glorifying kids who game the retailers, scalping high demand items and becoming millionaires.
I just want to know the correct way to report an item that I suspect would be price gouging and why the option to do so from the ebay website as indicated in the following article has been removed: https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/reporting-price-gouging-ebay?id=5105

So called price gouging is items that are items that are necessary, and usually applied in a time of crisis.
What you are upset with is not price gouging, it profiteering and is allowed.

What is the actual item that you believe is listed with price gouging? Or the item #?
Sometimes people confuse "price gouging" with what is simply a seller listing his $10 for $75.

@anderus.g9mmb It was removed from the drop down due to misuse by people who do not understand what price gouging actually refers to. Price gouging is where a person increases the prices of their goods to a level considered unreasonable and unfair, for necessities in demand and shortage of supply – normally as a result of natural disaster such as a hurricane or earthquake. This normally occurs when we have a national emergency declared. We were in the midst of a global pandemic, hence the reason why hand sanitizer was a factor. It's not anymore.
What do you think has been going on for centuries in business? A business at it’s second most basic level is buying and selling. The most basic level is creating/growing/building and selling. Go into any store anywhere in the world, anywhere in time, the goods on the shelf were bought and are now being sold or resold using your word.
You even wrote that you want to report someone who you "suspect", go read what you wrote. You admit you aren't even certain, you just suspect someone of doing something and want the right to report them....SMH....

Unless it is a required item for survival of person or property, it is not EVER price gouging.
People upset over someone buying out all the PS5's etc. for example, and then selling them for 5x the cost, is nothing but good business. And, it's legal is all 50 States. Buy low, sell high. The American Way.
So, what is the item you are concerned about?

The option to report "price gouging" is only available on certain sites and in certain categories.
