I had been revising a future listing several times and periodically saving it. But on one particular occasion, when I opened it again to do more work, all of the HTML tokens were gone. It was as if I opened a Word doc and all of the periods, commas and carriage returns were gone. Only the text remained, all strung together.
I don't know what I did and it hasn't happened since. But I'd like to avoid it happening again.
I only have a rudimentary grasp of CSS and HTML, but in the past, if I made a mistake or left off a bracket , the coding would show up as text, but not disappear.
Does anyone have any insight as to how this could have happened. I use a Mac if that may make a difference.

If it concerns you, before saving an edited draft, copy the entire description HTML tab contents and paste that into a locally stored text document. Then, if needed because a gremlin ate your formatting again, you can paste it back into the HTML tab with all the description text, formatting, tables, fonts, whatnot preserved.
(I edit all my listings in the HTML tab directly, and often save snippets like a shipping table, or code for a button from them that way for reuse in another listing later to avoid retyping it all.)
