Several of my 'Good until cancelled' listings lost all photos today when the item's 30 days expired and was automatically relisted due to the nature of the listing.
The primary photo still shows up as a thumbnaiil when viewing 'mange active listings' page, but if you go to customer side it has no photos and says the seller didn't upload any.
If you click 'edit' to view the item revision page, the primary photo shows up but all additional photos have disappeared.

They could have sent a message to all sellers BUT they didn't. I feel betrayed. This is communism, sorry to say. I expect a company the size of ebay to be proactive. If they had just sent a message I wouldn't have had to find out the hard way by noticing our sales have dropped. I am ANGRY!!!

It's July 13th. The day that onbe of the many seemingly random responses from eBay said the lost photos would be replaced. Where are they? I'm still getting emails from potential customers asking for photos. STILL LOSING SALES directly because of eBay doing and they ARE STILL NOT TAKING RSPONSIBILITY for their actions by notifying us or our buyers.
eBay is simply pathetic and endlessly proves that they DO NOT CARE ABOUT SELLERS!

I am still having issues. I tried doing revise workaround and photos still not showing up. Most all my listings are GTC and i didnt even know there was an issue until i made a sell and happened to pull up listing I sold and there were no photos but 1 of 1. I was worried the buyer is going to return based on lack of photos. Im just seeing now most all my photos are gone. I was wondering why I was all of a sudden getting no more views or sells. Im going to try to manually fix as obvu

I used the instructions on this page to retrieve your unlinked photos.
These five active listings are missing photos

This same exact think has happened five hundred of our listings and there is no way to retrieve the photos other than just taking more photos. It has taken me half a week to figure out which listing were affected. How many sellers are being ruined by software glitches like this one? I have tried to contact Ebay several times but the wait and hold times have been in excess of 40 minutes each time. Just trying to get through the jumble of "reasons" why you as a seller would need to contact Ebay is like trying to read a book in a language that you don't understand. There is not a special button to call ebay that says. Press 1 click here if Ebay's software lost all of our your photos and your livelyhood is being ruined and your bills aren't getting paid. It's taken dozens of hours to try to fix this lost photo problem and it just seems to be getting worse. In an unrelated twist Last week all of our items were put on a 50% off flash sale for no reason without our approval and after our merchandise was given away for an hour we were able to mostly get it fixed. normally this system works fine but lately it has caused more problems that it has solved. Really wishing this was the Ebay good old days when customer service was a 2 minute phone call away to San Jose. Missing the good old days.

I wish you had come here sooner. This thread explains how to quickly find which listings are affected, and there are instructions for recovering photos through a google cache search:
I presume you came here too late for this to be of any help in your situation, but perhaps others will find it useful. Last I checked, earlier today, eBay is still trying to find a way to restore photos.

You are a genius. Very impressed. They need to be paying you if they are not doing so. Your help is sincerely appreciated. Way faster when done your way. Thanks a million for your help.

It just happened again to a few dozen listings. have been trying to fix it. I am thinking that this "dropped photo" business may have been intentionally programmed into the system to make room for Corporate ads and items. Just a guess. So far this photo glitch has cost us thousands in lost revenue and "fix it time" Bad news folks and nothing was done to make it right. We were promised credits that we never received and how can corporate possibly understand the impact of losings the photos on 400 to 500 listings. That's a month's work when you live in an area with slow adsl internet that runs at a disgusting speed of 3m or 4M with 200 Ping at most compared to big city speeds that are offered by fiber optic's service providers that are around 100M speed. It's been a rough year especially with regard to the listings that were destroyed and never made whole. You can fix tthem by using the neat cacheing method if you can find some of the old photos but it does take time. We were taken advantage of and it was never made right or repaired and now every month from the 20th to the 24th our businesses are slow to dead because of the years of hard work that was flushed down the drain. Not the end by any means. What happens when this happens next year. Who can we rely on? Who can we trust besides ourselves and our friends and other sellers?

I AGREE WITH EVERYBODY EBAY ONLY CARES ABOUT THEM SELF NOT THE SELLERS WHO MADE THEM WHAT THEY ARE TODAY, I HAVE A TRICK THAT I DO TO MAKE IT FAST TO RETRIEVE PICTURES, IN THE AD PUT YOUR PICTURE # IN THE DESCRIPTION LIKE THIS. MY PICT# 12345 ? WHEN YOU LOSE THE PICTURE IT IS EASY TO GO FIND THE PICTURE AND ADD IT BACK TO THE ITEM YOU ARE SELLING.
YEP DISAPPOINTED SELLER
