Error message when attempting to create shipping label USPS first class package

I'm trying to create and print a USPS first class package shipping label.  After entering the weight and dementions I click on buy shipping label and after a few second I get a "were sorry there was an error". Over and over I get the same error. Anyone have any suggestion?

What weight are you entering?  For a first class package, the weight cannot be more than 15 ounces.

I entered 12oz. It's a padded 10x7 envelope. With the items inside its 2" thick
