Ebay fee error/fraud

I wanted to relist 46 of my unsold items. I had the 50 free insertion promo. For the first attempt I received an error for one of the items so I cancelled the whole insertion without completing it. Now for this it shouldn't lower the promo cos it wasn't completed and cancelled but rather cancelled before even listing the items.

For the second try all went well total fee was 0.00$ but as soon as I hit submit all it showed 18.04$ total fees in a popup. I have a screenshot which shows the 0$ and the 18$ as proof. My guess is that the first, incomplete mass listing counted for the promo due to an error.

So first I probably encountered an error on Ebays side. Secondly I've been misinformed about the fees as I expected to pay 0$ Instead I was notified after the mass listing that it's 18$. This is a fraud/scam.

I started a case to remove the fees but they don't even read my story. They only play dumb and send me automated messages.

Any suggestions? Is the only option the legal action against Ebay?

Re: Ebay fee error/fraud

Did you check your account to see if you were actually charged.......

even if they were trying to charge 35c x 46 it doesn't add up to 18.04

what automated message did they send you?

Re: Ebay fee error/fraud

Yes I was charged.

Here's some of our emails. Some might not make sense because I colored sentences to make my point and point out discrepancies.

Hi,

Thank you for emailing us back and I understand you are concerned with the Insertion Fee that were charged upon listing the item. I can definitely check on this for you.

I will make this quick for you. Be informed that I have checked on your Free Insertion Fee Listings and I can confirm that you have indeed used up the 50 Free Insertion Fee Listings. I have matched the items you have at your not yet invoiced amount and to your listings has Free Insertion Fee Listings at the same time, there was no repeated fee.

You can check it here:

https://www.rsvp.ebay.com/rsvp/viewitemids/258693296012

I checked on the screen shot that you have provided and I can confirm that it indeed stated the total of $0.00. Now, it may have been that before you have submitted the relisted items, there was an available Insertion free listings and that’s why it shows $0.00.

At the same time, the moment you have clicked on list, the system calculated the Insertion Fee since the items will not be within your Free Insertion Fee Listing.

Looking into this, be informed that it may have been that these listings were relisted by the system (Good ‘till cancelled listing) automatically before you tried to make changes of it and used up some of your Free Insertion Fee Listing.

Be informed that listings will be automatically relisted every month. After the 30th day of the items were listed.

I am positive that I was able to explain this with you further.

Thank you for choosing eBay. We truly value your business with us! I hope you and your family there in Hungary are all in good health. Keep safe!

Best Regards,

From me:

Let me copy my email before and highlight the parts that you clearly didn’t read and let’s try this again. Read and understand the text, kids in elementary school can do it so can you:

My email:

The first bulk listing didn't go through how many times do I have to tell you? There was an error so I couldn't finish and I've cancelled it but it counted towards the 50 promo as it seems. I didn't finish it and cancel it later, it was never finished.

Please check the facts how could I relist the same items at the second bulk listing if I already relisted them a minute ago???

First bulk listing got cancelled before I could finish it. So it shouldn't count toward the promo!

Second bulk listing showed me 0$fees before completing so I completed it.

After completing the second bulk listing a popup informed me that fees are 18$.

I kindly ask again to remove the fees. Due to an error on Ebays side my 50 promo was reduced with the listings I didn't complete. And I was misinformed about the fees at the second listing. This is a fraud and I can take legal action since I did nothing wrong, and I was mislead with the 0$ fee as you can clearly see on the screenshot.

Your response:

Hello ,

Thanks for getting back to us regarding on the insertion fee. I will do my best to check this matter and look for options to get this resolved.

First off, I appreciate your professionalism on handling this matter and I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you!

I thoroughly reviewed your account and I see that you have exceeded your 50 free insertion fee listings. This is the reason why you were charged for the insertion fee. At the same time, most of your listings end time is April 08, when you relist these listings it counts towards your free insertion fee listings.

Moving on, you’ve mentioned that it was cancelled but we don’t see any listings that has been cancelled. Thus, these charges are valid.

To check it in your end, you may visit this link:

https://cgi3..ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewAccount&acctpagetype=0&sortOrder=1&endmonth=&endday=&end...

You can see the listings with free insertion fee and when you relisted these items on the link provided.

I am glad I was able to assist you on your concern. Thanks for your patience and cooperation!

Take care always, and I also wish you and your family the best of health.

Thank you for choosing eBay. We value your business.

Green text:         Yes you don’t see any listings that was cancelled because NONE WAS CANCELLED. There was an error so I didn’t even finish the first bulk listing.

Red text:              Check the attached screenshot for the second listing. Right left corner. Do you see the 0$ fees? Well it turned out to be 18$ as soon as I hit submit all. Let me tell you again, this is a money fraud I can take legal action against.

Blue text:            First bulk listing got cancelled before I could finish it. So it shouldn't count toward the promo!

Read and understand! If you can’t please get a supervisor who can. I don’t want to receive another automated message. Please remove the fees. Thank you.
