Ebay.com not available to Internet Explorer

ONCE ABAIN EBAY IS SHOWING IT'S ARROGANCE. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO ACCESS EBAY'S SITE THROUGH INTERNET EXPLORER. I HAVE TRIED FOR A WEEK NOW AND AS OFF TODAY AT 10:45 MTS. IT IS STILL BLOCKED.

WHEN I MADE SOME ENQUIRIES, I FOUND OUT THAT EBAY HAS SEEN FIT TO DENY INTERNET EXPLORER ACCESS TO THE SITE REASON'S UNKOWN. THERE IS NO OTHER INFO AVAILABLE ON THIS MATTER.

HOWEVER, I CAN ACCESS EBAY'S SITE THROUGH BING. ONCE IN I SEE A MESSAGE IN BOLD LETTERS SAYING THAT IT'S NOT YOU IT'S US AND THAT THEIR SERVER IS DOWN BUT WILL BE OPERATIONAL VERY SOON. WHILE I CAN STILL ACCESS EBAY THROUGH BING, I CAN ONLY GET IN ON THE MY EBAY PORTION. THERE IS NO ACCESS TO ANY OTHER PART OF EBAY. SINCE EBAY IS NOT KNOWN FOR BEING HELPFUL OR FOURTHCOMING WITH THE TRUTH, I HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT ONCE AGAIN, IN TRYING TO FIX SOMETHING THAT ISN'T BROKEN, THEY HAVE SCREWED EVERYTHING ELSE UP AND DON'T REALLY GIVE A **bleep**. TYPICAL. IT'S TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE. IT'S TIME TO GET RID OF THE LOSERS IN THE BOARDROOM. INDEED, IT'S TIME FOR A TOTAL PERSONNEL CHANGE AT EBAY AND WITH IT A CHANGE IN PHYLOSIPHIES. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE EBAY WE USED TO KNOW? TIME TO PUT PEOPLE IN THERE WHO ACCTUALLY KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON AND WHO CARE.

Re: Ebay.com not available to Internet Explorer

Please see posts (and my posts) on this thread;

UNABLE TO PULL UP EBAY.COM FOR DAYS - SERIOUS ISSUE!!!

Many have been reporting this, including me.  I finally got eBay's attention and this is now being looked at and hopefully will be resolved soon.  If not, I'm sure the shareholders will want to know.

Re: Ebay.com not available to Internet Explorer

I thought it was my computer....every time I try to open another window good with any site but ebay, then it closes IE, started about a week ago. UGGGGHHH Makes it hard to list sometimes I like to refer to an earlier listing for shipping costs etc. I just stopped listing anything new until the bugs are worked out. Another computer that I do noy use for listing & pictures, I have chrome  & works fine on ebay but once again IE no go (not the 1st time over the years)...oh well when it fixes maybe I will start some listings since I cut out so many that I am protesting the GTC on lol

Re: Ebay.com not available to Internet Explorer

To all, The eBay main page has an issue (really?). You have two choices, use another browser, or bookmark a page that is 'past' the main (home) page. Here is a link you can use for a bookmark...https://www.ebay.com/myb/Summary

eBay is continually updating this site. Some advice given may have changed. Please reply to this thread, to let us know if this advice works for you. The links on the bottom of any eBay page can help you deal with most eBay issues. Contact eBay Customer Service on Facebook.com/eBay or Twitter.com/AskeBay

Re: Ebay.com not available to Internet Explorer

NO. NONE OF WHAT IS MENTIONED HERE HAS HELPED. THERE IS STILL NO ACCESS TO EBAY THROUGH INTERNET EXPLORER. ANY ATTEMPT RESULTS IN A MESSAGR STATING THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH EBAY'S WEBSITE AND ACCESS IS UNABAILABLE. THIS ONLY GOES TO PROVE BEYOND A DOUBT,THAT WHEN EBAY MAKES ANY KIND OF CHANGES NO MATTER HOW SLIGHT, THEY SCREW UP SOMETHING ELSE AND IT TAKES DAYS, IF NOT WEEKS FOR THEM TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. EBAY'S ARROGANCE ONLY PROVES THAT THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE. OBVIOUSLY THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE MEANING OF THE PHRASE, "IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT." IT'S LONG PAST TIME WHEN THERE NEEDS TO BE A TOTAL CHANGE IN EBAY'S PERSONNEL STARTING RIGHT AT THE TOP.

Re: Ebay.com not available to Internet Explorer

It seems to me that there are three basic options to choose from.

1) Wait for eBay to fix the problem.

2) Use a different browser to access eBay. You don't need to stop using Explorer; you can have more than one browser on your computer, you can even use more than one at the same time. Browsers such as Firefox, Chrome and Opera are all free to download, and easy to install. Using the app on a phone is another possibility, as is using a browser on a phone to access the desktop site.

3) Keep using Explorer 11, but avoid the main eBay page (where the problem apparently is). Bookmark a convenient page such as the site map:

https://pages.ebay.com/sitemap.html

and use it to navigate to other pages, avoiding the main page. If signing in directs you back to the main page, close that tab and go back to the site map.

Those are the three options as I see them. Is there a fourth option?

Re: Ebay.com not available to Internet Explorer

The only real resolution is for eBay to fix the problem and I'm trying to assist to escalate this and have gotten eBay to respond here at CB.  I will also be pursing further escalation this week via other channels.

The work-around I use (as I share your suffering and have the same problem) is to sign-in at another bookmarked page.  I use one from Community Boards titled "I can't login to ebay."  This just reminds me daily of how inept eBay is to address Technical Issues.  Once you sign-in you will probably get another IE error message, so you have to close the page and open again.  Each day is a little different and some days it's a 12 step process to finally be signed in.

To others posting here to try to be helpful;

Unless you're experiencing the problem, you really have no idea what's happening or how severe it is, which can further frustrate members posting here for help.  The suggestions are good, but they don't always work, or work the way you think they might.

To qualify who I am;

I have an extensive Technical Background (electronics, semiconductors and software) and was a member of the Leadership Team for my last corporate position, where I was a Customer Quality Manager.  I have a lot of experience handing high level technical issues and Customers.  I'm here trying to help you, me, and eBay, so we can all get back on track and be able to use the site.

@eburtonlab

To answer your question;

"Those are the three options as I see them. Is there a fourth option?"

Yes, the fourth option is .....  4) Stop using eBay and move to another e-merchant site

Many customers are doing this (including me).

There is the fifth option too, for Potential New Customers who can't access the eBay site;

5) "Hmmm, can't access eBay, guess I'll shop at Amazon"
