Ebay + Javascript overnight = non functioning in Chrome

This morning my overview page won't run in Chrome.  worked fine when I went to bed.   My buying pages seem to work ok, but not the selling overview.  I can work in firefox but it is a terrible platform and unreliable.

I had to reboot due to a 2nd monthly Firefox update.  Now I get the following.  I have turned on javascript (against my will, java is NOT SECURE!), rebooted, and this message still comes up.

Pardon Our Interruption...

As you were browsing eBay, something about your browser made us think you were a bot. There are a few reasons this might happen:

  • You're a power user moving through this website with super-human speed.
  • You've disabled JavaScript in your web browser.
  • A third-party browser plugin, such as Ghostery or NoScript, is preventing JavaScript from running.

I have turned on javascript

JavaScript is most likely still being blocked in your browser if you had previously blocked it. You may have enabled it on ebay.com, but that may not be sufficient to avoid that error message.

If you do not want to use JavaScript, pick one browser to block JavaScript in and use that for most things.

Pick another browser for things like eBay that require JavaScript to be running, and use that browser for eBay.

That's what I have done, and hadn't any problems,  but this morning something had changed so it wouldn't run in the settings - in the time that has passed since I posted to this board something got changed and I am able to work in chrome again.
