Ebay Item Report Function Broken....

I came across some counterfeit items on eBay, and figured I'd report them as they're illegitimate and that's what you tend to do if you don't want others falling for it. Fake Chinese collector cards and makeup, yknow.

Well... the Report function is actually completely broken. I click on Report Item, and the dropdown... just won't show up. Nothing. Can't tap the arrow keys or hit enter to try to get the options out or anything. Just says "the number you've entered is invalid" and won't say anything else (though I clicked on the Report Item FOR that item, so it shouldn't be saying that). 

•  The number you entered don't match the image. Please try again.

It just says this and... doesn't do anything. No way I can figure out how to fix it. Any advice?

I am not sure what to tell you. I just tried it and it worked on my computer. Reported three items from my computer with no issues. 

Also tried it on  on my phone using the eBay App and no issues. Reported three more items with no issues.

I had a firend also do teh samething as me and they were able to report items with no issues on both their computer and phone.

Maybe the report feature was down or a glitch when you tried. 

I suggest you give it another try.

The report item feature is currently working for me in most recent browsers, though I did have an issue using it with a legacy version of Microsoft Edge that went away when I upgraded to the current version. But I have seen other posts by users that had similar problems with drop-down options not appearing.

One user was able to report items using one account, but not another, so perhaps there is some difference between accounts. I believe that that user was able to report items using an account that was primarily used for buying, but the selling-only account did not work.

If you have another account, try using that to report the item. Or, as the other poster suggested, try using the app or the browser on your phone. Trying another browser type might be good idea. It might also be worth trying to report the item on a different country site such as ebay.ca or ebay.co.uk instead.
