You need to set your browser to open PDF files with Adobe and not its built in reader.

Unfortunately some browsers are better than others when it comes to opening PDF files using the built-in PDF translator. And browser updates are prone to alter this behavior -- either because an update prevents PDFs from being directly viewable, or because it changes the default behavior of the browser -- whether the PDF is viewed or saved.
If your browser handles PDF files well then there is no need to use a PDF viewer to open those files. But if you run into problems and your browser cannot handle printing PDFs directly, then using something like Adobe Acrobat Reader can make sense.
