I want to update my brand new working router di-604 to Firmware (3.53) but it looks like it's not available anywhere to download. D-Link manufacturer seems to have no repository of this software. The built-in Firmware (2.05) is not so bad but setting the system date is not available beyond 2012.
My old di-604 with Firmware (3.53) is about to retire after almost 10 years service to my home network; it is overheating frequently and prone to malfunction thus replacement is necessary.

A quick google turns up this link:

If you have the "E" version of the router, there is a dropdown that has a firmware download for 3.53 and 3.52.

I have H/W Ver E1 F/W Ver 3.20. Is 'E1' the same as 'E' you are referring to? Also, where is the display of dropdown located in settings for download of 3.52 or 3.52 options?

H/W Ver E1 sounds like Hardware version E to me.
At the link I posted, there are only two choices available right under where it says "For access to the right downloads, please select the correct hardware revision for your device. " There is a little dropdown menu that says "--Please select--". Click that and choose "E" (the only other choice is "A") and you should see your available options.

I thought you were talking about options inside 192.168.0.1 of di-604. But I figured out later that Firmware (3.53) can be downloaded from D-Link website thru option ‘E’. I really saw this option before but it did not work at the start, so I gave up altogether.
I think there are 2 things that the download may not work: 1) when you are using a different router to download the firmware; 2) when blocked ports in your firewall includes the port used by D-Link. As usual--in all routers I used that included Cisco and others--in additon to 6 or 7 no-no ports I always block ports 995 to 61535 to minimize intruders. When I opened these ports temporarily, everything went OK. This time I was able to get an update to firmware 3.53. Thanks anyway for your attention.
