Is it just me or has eBay’s customer service taking a real dive lately? The fact you cannot chat with an agent, and when you email them it is always cookie cutter and almost never answers your concern. Also the Agents over the phone use a scripted answering format that is little to no help. Needless to say after 20 years of being a customer I have had my fill. eBay this is my official Adios! Enjoy saving a dime, cause I’m taking mine with me!

Most issues can be handled without needing to contact customer service.

I bought a machined part for a project, and it would not thread in. I chose the “Doesn’t Fit” option and it considered this a “remorse return” eBay would not allow a reason change and I was going to have to eat shipping. Even though eBay insured me they would take care of it Nothing was fixed and the time to ship back lapsed.

If you did not ship the item back, you might still have recourse through your payment method, though you may be on the hook for return tracked shipping, depending on your card issuer's policy.
If you want to try contacting eBay before you go to your card issuer, try contacting eBay via social media direct message. Not sure if there is anything eBay can do once you have passed the time frame for a return, but it might not hurt to ask.
