Hi! We list quite often (roughly 20-30 or more listings per week day), on/through the eBay webpage and we have been having the same issue for the last two weeks or so. When inserting a custom template, such as our business policy template, it no longer pasts where the cursor is, or where we were last typing. It now pastes in the very first line of our description, which has been messing up our fonts, titles, sizing, etc. and takes us extra time to fix. While we understand this isn't a huge issue, it is fairly inconvenient.
Is this a new eBay update that it does this? Is there a setting we can fix?
Highlighted in the image are the template button we are referring to as well as the template inserted. The generic text was typed before inserting the template.
Any help would be appreciated.

As of this moment, there is a different (known) issue with templates.
>Sellers are unable to click on sell again/edit the template due to error message "Well, this is embarrassing"
You can report the issue that you're experiencing to eBay. Here's how:
Look in the bottom right hand corner of the > eBay Home Page and click on the ? icon. You can report content, send feedback to eBay, or report a technical issue (see screenshot below):

That's very helpful, is there a way to report it similarly on the desktop site?

I'm using an iPad Air 5 right now (but my PC is turned on and I just checked). Works great and the ? icon is much easier to find. A lot less scrolling and waiting for that icon to pop-up.

We're having the same issue. First noticed it on single listings a few days ago, Now it has affected the bulk listing edits. Contacted ebay, they're looking into it. Hopefully this is fixed soon.

This is getting frustrating.
I put in many many details and I insert my blurb at the end and it screws the whole thing up
Very frustrating, I recreated one of the templates but that didn't work. I have to edit the HTML manually to get it right
Has anyone heard from them about this

If what you're experiencing is not on the Current known technical issues list with an Alert # assigned to it, be sure to submit a report to eBay detailing exactly what's happening anyway:
Go to the > eBay homepage to find the ? icon in the bottom right hand corner of the home page.
For App Users: Please consider shaking your Mobile App or Uninstalling/Reinstalling the App.

Thanks
It's not in the known issues list
I did submit a report with a link to this post
I admit that I was surprised that more people hadn't reported it here
Anyway, thanks again for the reply

Great idea. Have a good weekend.

I've contacted eBay customer support at least once a week for the last three weeks about it. I've opened an IT report (according to customer service) and submitted screen shots and videos of my listing as it happens and they've been added to the IT report (again, according to the rep I spoke to).
It's extremely frustrating. I'm not sure how to edit the HTML or why it would be wrong in the first place, since I've never touched that part of the template.

Click the three vertical dots (top right of the screen when you're creating a listing), select 'Your feedback', and you can report it directly yourself. Usually better off going that route. Quickest fix I can think of in the meantime would be to insert your template first and then write your description after. Next quickest would be:
Either method should prevent whatever formatting you apply from getting messed up and needing to be redone.

I've reported it almost every other day since this has started happening through the "Your Feedback" route, as well as talking directly to customer service. We have been copy and pasting the template into the bottom of the description or pasting the template first in order to avoid redoing our descriptions.
This isn't a huge issue, just frustrating and annoying, considering how many times we personally have reported it, and how many times other sellers have reported it. It seems like it could have been fixed several weeks ago when the issue first came up.

A second here, a second there... it's enough to drive you insane. Are you comfortable with computers? Programs like AutoHotkey are awful handy for stuff like this.

I see you standard text has some formatting
I can tell you what to look for so you can copy it and put it in a text file so you can paste like participatrophy described
That's what I'm doing for now
Just like they said, a second here, a second there...
I'm glad other people understand how that is frustrating

You are all so helpful. Unfortunately, I am not a computer person. We're just doing: "Create Template" "Manage" and then CTRL+A, CTRL+C and CTRL+V . It's fine for now, just annoying. I just don't understand why they would change it anyway. It seems odd that an eBay update would do this, since it's so much easier to insert a template wherever you want it, even if that is at the beginning of your description.
