Critical Messaging Issue

Issue: Repeated attempts to reply to buyer inquiry through ebay messaging results in the following:

"Bad Request
Please contact your administrator with the error code: xxxx". (won't let me show the error code in this message apparently 😤 )

Error is received in Chrome and Firefox but messages succeed in Safari.

Critical Messaging Issue

I'm seeing a similar / same errror when replying through a URL that starts with https://www.ebay.com/cnt/ReplyToMessages?M2MContact

Over the last few days, I've started to receive an error message when trying to reply to customers using the website's Reply button.

Starting a new message to the same user with the same message content works, so this seems to be related to the Reply interface.

This has happened for multiple threads with different buyers and it happens repeatedly each time the message is sent.

The URL structure of the page where the error shows, after hitting "Send message" is like

https://www.ebay.com/cnt/ReplyToMessages?itemId=########&questionId=######&receiverId=abcdefg

When I submit the message it shows an error as follows:

The web browser shows a response with a 403 HTTP Forbidden code upon POST.

We can see other recent threads with the same broad pattern

Try using another browser or another link to reply to that message.

Try going to the user's feedback or profile page. Verify that the user is still registered. If so, use the "contact" link to compose a new message.

For best results, do not include any links, special characters or numbers that might be mistaken for a phone number.

If prompted for an item number, either use a current active listing number or choose "not about an item".
