I generally use cut and paste from a word document into item description space.
This evening my line spacing is not retained when I paste into description. Advanced editing doesn't show any way to change spacing to match the paragraph of text I retain from previous listings (shipping details).

When pasting from word into description, many HTML formatting characters get inserted that you cant see. If you change to the HTML View tab after pasting this will become apparent. Try pasting into the seller notes field first, this will strip out the auto generated HTML. Then copy and paste from notes to description. That will give you plain text in the description you can then format further if needed. There are several other tricks to handle this but this way will at least tell you if that is what is happening.

Thanks, will give that a try! Odd it's worked for years, and now there's a glitch, but then that's no surprise on eBay...

Well, this morning it won't even paste at all. A floating message appears on the listing form momentarily that says "saving", but I don't know WHERE?! It's already saved in my word program; where is is disappearing to when I try to paste into item description or seller notes (even tried in shipping info box). And yes, the cursor is in the proper place when I attempt to paste. Weird!

Wow no idea on paste not working at all... maybe it is too long? Try pasting a shorter text like just 1 word and see if that works? Also delete anything that is in the field already, click off the field, then back in before pasting and see what happens then. If you have the option try a different web browser. For the "saving", that is normal on the listing form that it is just auto-saving what you have done to that point in the listing draft. Nothing do do with Word. Good luck.

I've been experiencing weird stuff like this for a long time. Font substitution, size fonts, spacing, disappearing text. When I do the mobile friendly checker if there is no text appearing, I go back to advance edit and drop down font color menu and select black and it then shows up. This whole site is buggy as HELL!

Tried new suggestions, no solution thus far. Frustrating!

Not sure if this is an exact match to your situation, but sometimes it's less traumatic for the edit session if the text you're pasting into it goes through a Notepad edit window first. That will strip out hidden formatting codes and leave you only the visible text.
Paste the text into Notepad, then do a new highlighting of the text, Ctrl+C to copy it into the buffer again, and then Ctrl+V into the edit session.
Worst-case scenario: the inconsistent line spacing can result from stray oversized text characters. Try highlighting the whole problem paragraph, then change its point size up, and then down again to the desired size. Resizing the whole paragraph should drag its line spacing back to normal as well.

Here's a new wrinkle. I think the issue may be the PREVIEW. No matter what I try, my text shows up in the preview as one line right over the other, almost a big block of black ink! So I went ahead and listed. It appears fine in my listing. Anyone else seeing something like this when they preview their listing? This started early yesterday (Friday, Feb. 7). I'm going to ignore the preview for the time being, list, then quickly check my listing to see all is okay.
