Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

Since May 30 or so, I have not been able to see the original auction listing of a number of sold auctions. Instead there is a blue banner at the top of the page stating that the listing has ended and offering an entirely different active auction in its place below.

If this is a tentative rollout leading  to the eventual elimination of completed listings, I want to voice my disapproval of this change. I find these completed-sold listings very informative and valuable.

I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SEE COMPLETED - SOLD AUCTIONS.

Even though there is a workaround, this is absolutely terrible on eBay's part.  The workaround itself is tedious, and if you don't know what it is, you are out of luck.  It impacts both sellers and buyers, in that not only are 'completed' (sold) listings misdirecting users, but also the 'relisted' feature is now apparently completely broken as well.  (Most times, if you click on the 'relisted item' link from the 'Completed' summary page, you are taken to another item completely, with the message that the 'item is no longer available'.  However, if you use the same workaround, and click 'listing' in the message, THEN you get to another page that tells you the item has been relisted....and you have to click yet AGAIN to get to the relisted item.  As a seller, I find that unacceptable service, as it will result in customers being unable to easily locate relisted items - and as a buyer, it is just another layer of bureaucracy to get through.  Come on, eBay -- FIX THIS whole issue.  The programmer who designed this must have been totally asleep when they coded this change.  I don't see where it added any value for eBay either, since the displayed item may or may not have any relevance to the 'completed' item (relists), and as far as 'sold/completed', it hurts the chances for sellers to actually USE eBay to sell their products.

theshadylady, if you are not new to eBay, then you must know that eBay does not listen. Changes they have made lately, including being able to see all of lists on one screen, has actually caused me to miss the ends of auctions that I may have bid on. Thus, I am buying less. Nice going, eBay, you ______. I am sure everyone has enough imagination to fill in the blank.

I tried that and it worked until today. Tried to click the purposely obscure word "listing" today, and now the link is gone along with the image and info in my saved ended auctions! I hate this new eBay "item switch" to something they think I should buy replacing my saved ended auctions! And their replacement is NEVER is something I am interested in buying at all! What has happened to eBay????!!!!!!

d.s.turner, you are kidding?!  Now the "listing" link is gone, too?  That is it for me.  I am going to cut back on eBay spending big time now.  I have had it with this sort of claptrap.  It is never ending, and I am sick of it!  : (

I sent (yet another) comment about this to eBay by clicking their "Tell us what you think" link in case it makes any difference. After reading so many complaints from eBayers under this topic it seems to be falling on deaf ears. Maybe they want to get rid of all the vintage & antique collectibles sellers and small volume sellers, and just sell designer apparel and new electronics like every other online business. They are quickly killing off their unique personality that set them apart from the competition and originally made them so successful.

I've done this too (sent comments ... several times!) via the 'tell us what you think' link - obviously, they just don't care.

I'm still seeing that obscure 'listing' link and it still takes several more steps to get back to the original item listing. I'm also seeing that link appearing associated with an item that ended, but has been relisted (when I click the 'relisted item' link, sometimes, I'm taken directly to the relisted item (yea!), but that bogus 'listing is no longer available' message appears there too. Obviously somebody made a fairly major programming change and failed to test it before releasing it into production. And, as I said early, it's pretty obvious that eBay just doesn't care.

Type the words "completed listings" before what you are searching for in the search box at the top, for example, "completed listings iphone 10 128gb used".  It worked for me.
