Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

Since May 30 or so, I have not been able to see the original auction listing of a number of sold auctions. Instead there is a blue banner at the top of the page stating that the listing has ended and offering an entirely different active auction in its place below.

If this is a tentative rollout leading  to the eventual elimination of completed listings, I want to voice my disapproval of this change. I find these completed-sold listings very informative and valuable.

I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SEE COMPLETED - SOLD AUCTIONS.

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

I posted the same issue yesterday, I tried a workaround in one of the replies, it works fine:

On "The listing you're looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you", click the word "listing" will let you see the original post.

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

As of this morning I am having the same problem with listings on my Sold page. The sold item's link takes me to the active listing of someone else selling the same item.   I called eBay and the rep said she had not seen that problem before and put in a tech order.  This has to be fixed.  I need to see the details of the item I sold.

I am having the same problem and hope they get it fixed fast.. When I check a completed listing and open it up, I get a different listing and a different picture!  Its totally crazy.. I am trying to see what items are selling for and now I am totally confused!  Also, On my iphone when I filter sold listing, they are not mixed with the unsold and not showing up in GREEN.. I am so upset.. I hope this gets fixed soon

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

The same is happening with me. I purchased a game cartridge over a week ago. I got it today and it`s rattling inside. I tried to go back to the original listing to see if the seller had mentioned something broken inside so I`d know if I bought the item that way but when I click on the item it takes me to active listings of similar nature items. So basically I have no listing to refer back to so I don`t know if the item is "as described" because I don`t recall the details of the transaction. If ebay leaves it like this it will create riffs between buyer and seller.

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

Same issue with me. Another ridiculous notion eBay is trying to run past us without prior notification. How do you research items for current market value when you can no longer view them?

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

Go to your Purchase history and click on the listing title, and that should take you to the original listing.

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

Thanks. This works for me too. Gotta smile at hiding the link so craftily. It must be super difficult to code a less obvious link. How about using the link on the next page: See original listing? Goody, another mouse click too.

Thanks again for pointing this out.

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

That trick is only good for an item you won the purchase history link. Again if you are a seller trying to research an items sales price you want to see the condition of the item via pictures. Wow  have to agree another example of Ebay making it difficult for sellers and buyers. They take a useful tool and remove it.

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

Please let's chip in and buy the programmers some toys so they'll quite adding "features" no one wants!!!

When I click a completed item I am doing it for a reason!

Not to buy it (since I know it is closed!!) but to look at bids, final price, etc.

Thank God some one noticed the hidden link to what everyone wants to see! "THE SOLD ITEM"

Otherwise I have being doing the hard way with advanced searches on sellers' sold items.

Thanks!

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

Even though the workaround seems to work fine, it certainly is a back door -- and the actual PROBLEM needs to be addressed by eBay.  It seems to me that in their zealousness to 'improve the eBay experience', they've broken something that was working quite nicely.  This is definitely not the first time that they have added additional steps to the overal 'experience', which only makes it more cumbersome.  I'm glad there is a workaround, to be sure, but again, the problem needs to be fixed so that a workaround is not required.

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

Can't access my sold either. Everyone needs to call eBay. Just Google contact eBay. The more that call about this issue the more they take it seriously. I am so tired of major glitches with all of the changes since October. 15 years of selling, the recent issues have been constant and problematic/inconvenience as a seller. Never seen it this bad.....not to mention sales.

Re: Cannot View Completed - Sold Auctions

I figured out how to do it. The message is:

The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you.

Click on the word "listing" thats colored in blue. It will take you to the original sold listing.
