Today, I accidentally discovered that even though I am logged into to Ebay, I cannot login to the Account Settings Section to edit or just view items such as contact data. When I re enter username and password, they are rejected. I made two long and exhausting calls to customer service to try to fix this only to be told that this is a system wide glitch affecting some users. They gave me a ticket# and told me to try again in 24-48 hours and to call back if it still doesn't work. This all seems abit strange, suppose you have to make changes... anyone else have this problem?

When editing listings the first listing for the day usually will bring up the log in screen. I have noticed with edge it kind of lags and is un responsive at first. Normally it shows the correct id and password already filled out. I have found if I click the log in button it will say invalid password. However if I click the user name a drop down will appear and from that drop down If I select my user name again it will repopulate the id and password fields. Then I can click the button to log in and continue working on my listings.

Annoying isn't it ! I can only stop the sign in issues by running my computer in SAFE MODE NETWORKING then I have to go back to regular mode to ship items at paypal since eBay's robot will not let me in even though the stay signed in box is checked.
This bug infected me October 23 and ebay is really slow about fixing....

Today, still not working, although they must be doing something with the system.. now have to deal with moving jigsaw puzzle pieces to login. Wasted alot of time with customer support. For the fees Ebay charges we should have better overall support.. thinking seriously of moving to Reverb.

If you can’t log in to your account, then there are few things you need to check out:
You need to check out if there are any spelling errors.
If you've changed your username or password recently, then your browser might have saved the old information. So, you need to try it manually by entering your new username and password.
If you are still having problems logging in, you can also reset your password. (https://accounts.ebay.com/acctxs/user)
This is the link where you can reset your password.
As you said, the customer service provided you a ticket# which means you must contact them after 24-48 hours.
If you still face the same problem, they are going to solve it soon.
Thank You
Javda

I am here in SAFE MODE NETWORKING as in regular mode I can not post at this discussion board. I can view but when I click the Post button I am prompted again to sign! When I try to sign in the sign in window reappears, enter password then the stupid robot will not let me in. The stay signed in box is checked but does not work !!! When I explain this to ebay it seems like I am talking to a first grader.
The robot is only as smart as the programmer. I feel that this 2019 problem should be reported to the media as ebay only wants to blame the browser. I am about ready to turn up the volume to 11 ((((((((((((

Can't sign in today at all on any device with any browser. I tried following the link eBay emailed to reset the password and it will not accept any new password, giving an error message that more letters, symbols or numbers need to be added. I have multiple letters, symbols and numbers in the new password and have tried adding more and more to no avail. I hope this is some type of glitch that will be fixed soon. Bad time of year for a seller to lose access!

It appears that eBay has finally done away with the old sign-in page completely. If I can find another one that still works I will let you know, as I recall you could not get the new page to work with your account.
In the mean time, you might still be able to sign in using Facebook or Google, if you had previously set that up. If you had not, it might still be worth trying to set it up now -- the Facebook or Google sign in process may work differently than the current sign-in page.

I was hoping you would respond! Yes, I have been using your link all this time and today is the first problem with it. I always figured one day this would happen. The funny thing is I discovered if I keep trying my link multiple times, on the 5th or 6th try the old screen appears. So right now I am in, but I am anticipating that as soon as I try to print a label or leave feedback, the issue will raise its ugly head again. I haven't tried the Facebook or Google routes, so I will give those a try. I very much appreciate your help!

Good tip! Thanks!

I haven't been able to replicate it again so maybe it was picking up an old session from history. I tried the Google route and got the same Oops response to my password. I'll try with Facebook but not hopeful. Already tried changing the password and that didn't work. There's no way I can set up a new account unless eBay can transfer my store, all my listings, sales history, feedback to the new account, which is doubtful. I am getting a little stressed right now because we are on the verge of the holiday selling season. From all the comments I have read about the effectiveness of Customer Service, I'm not inclined to waste my time calling them. Desperation may require it though.

I tried your reloading old link technique in an incognito browser session after deleting cookies and history in a seldom used browser as a test -- after about 30 reloads I did get the old sign-in.
Don't give up!
It might be worth calling eBay; if you reach the right customer service rep, they might be able to suggest something, or else have access to tools that regular users do not. Perhaps they can assign a temporary password that will work for you.
Do you still have access to your account using the app on a phone or tablet?
11-23-2019 01:47 PM
Thanks for looking for a solution. Yes, I can access via the app on mobile devices. I can get by for most functions using the app but maintenance of store listings and creating new listings are an issue. It’s better than nothing but won’t do as a permanent fix.
It is possible a knowledgeable rep may be able to make a temporary password work or force a password change. It is strange that the change password function also does not work. It results in an error message saying more letters, numbers or symbols need to be added and adding more of any or all results in the same error message.

ReachStars:
I can sign in but many seller buttons are not working unless I kill my computer then reboot in SAFE MODE NETWORKING using MS7/IE ~ Chrome locks up !
Only problem with that is I can not print shipping labels unless I go back to normal mode by rebooting my computer then print labels at paypal.
I had no problem buying an item today. LOL !!!
