Multiple-variations listings have always had some bugs, but for years I have been working around them and so have other sellers.
As of about three weeks ago, some serious problems started to emerge. Clearly they changed something because the software was reporting duplicate variations when there were none.
Now, as of yesterday, it is MUCH worse. It is seriously broken (and eBay is claiming no one has reported it even though there are many reports on the Selling and Techical Issues boards which usually means there have been many calls to CS, as well).
I use MV listings a lot, I'm very familiar with its quirks but most of the time I can suggest a work-around, but I spent three hours yesterday trying to create a simple listing using Sell Similar and it wiped out my pictures and some of the variations more than a dozen times.
I gave up. I could NOT find any workarounds to get the info to stick, or to get it to list the correct variations, or to get the photos to stay. It wouldn't even work when I used eBay's defaults. Sorry.
You should report it on the Discussions > Inside eBay > Technical Issues boards. A lot of problems are ignored unless many sellers report the same issues.
