I have been trying to buy a "Buy it Now" item since last night and ebay is not able to process payment. I've tried paying by PayPal, credit card, and PayPal credit on 3 devices and 3 different browsers. I keep getting an error message that changes depending which payment method I try to use:
1. "We can't process your payment. Please select a different payment method or check your payment details including your billing address."
2. "Sorry, this payment option isn't available. Here are your options:
3. Sorry, we can't process your payment. Here are your options:
The ebay rep told me last night that they are working on a technical issue, but I can't find any other discussions here or on the web about this. Is this a site-wide issue that everyone is having problems with? Is there anything I can do to get around it and purchase the item? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to confirm that we are investigating this issue now and I have added all of the impacted users from this thread to our report. I don't have an estimated time for a fix at the moment, but will touch base if I need more info from anyone. In the meantime, make sure there is nothing wrong with your PayPal account (address, card on file, etc.) and that you PayPal login info is up to date. Try logging in to the regular PayPal site with the same account information to double check, and to ensure there is no account issue on PayPal's end that could be interfering with payment. Lastly, clear your browsing history/cache/cookies and attempt payment again. Some members may find checkout is successful when using a different browser, by trying to check out on a desktop or the mobile version of the site (whichever you were not using originally), or by logging into eBay.ca and completing checkout there. Be aware if you buy the item on eBay.ca, any potential issues with your purchase would be addressed on eBay.ca going forward.

Add me too. I can't make any purchases. My visa card is active and in good standing. This problem has been going on for a couple of months.

My ebay/paypal "not payments "started working again a week or so after I posted. I didn't do anything, tried different browsers, used a windows 10 computer it worked...but then not on mine (Firefox)...I gave up. ...enough complaints and maybe they stopped blaming ea other and fixed it!
I hope you're able to pay again.

I've had the same problem with "Buy it Now" earlier today.

Same here, same message. I spent over $1000 on Wednesday with no problem. Now I've tried buying three items, and eBay is telling me to PAY NOW. I chatted with an incompetent chatbot and they acted like they have no idea, try PayPal. I try PayPal and get the same error message.

I’m having trouble today couldn’t make a purchase just gives me that message “We can't process your payment. Please select a different payment method or check your payment details including your billing address.” When I check my PayPal credit account it shows all these transactions trying to buy the item. So it is connected but won’t let you go through with actually purchasing it.

Ebay - Australia
My debit card came close to expiry. The bank issued a new one with a new expiry. I activated it immediately only to find out i cant use it on Ebay anymore !
When i want to check out with the bank card, Ebay's data of my bank card conflicts and wont let me check out. The error message reads " There is something wrong. You have entered the incorrect details"
I cant use Paypal at the moment because there are nobody there to help me straight away, their automated phone service said it could take weeks !!!!!
I have cleared all cache's. I have tried using another Browser eg Google Chrome but my computer is going mad with red flags and risks!
How is Ebay going to resolve the issue with the KEPT DATA ON MY CARD !!! I have items to pay on Ebay! The service team insisted i use one of the other checkouts eg Paypal or Afterpay, THEY CANNOT HELP ME ANY FURTHER !!!
Disgustingly incompetent !

I have the same problem and I figured something out that worked for me. It seems that once you start receiving this error messages to use a different credit card etc. its cuz ebay or paypal flagged it, so it forces you to use a different one. Even if you try to register that same credit card to paypal it won't register either and you will get similar error messages. After dealing with useless ebay technicians they just said to use a different credit card, so fortunately my credit card company offers "virtual credit card numbers" for safer online shopping just the way the Apple credit card works which automatically generates a new number every time you use it so in case your credit card info gets stolen they will just get a ghost number not your actual one. So story short, I used a number that it generated and boom it worked. Its a pain to use different numbers all the time but it would do for now.... Hope it helps any of you having similar issues....

Guess they haven't fixed it yet I have 4 items in my cart from same vendor and getting messages/payment failures above at this time. I have had it happen randomly over last 2 weeks or so. Will try a different browser and/or purchasing items one by one (even though from same vendor......)

First time having this issue. Nope still not fixed and neither eBay nor PayPal "help" bots do anything....

I have been having the same problem since I created my account and started shopping last week. A few transactions went through but the rest are coming up with the same errors described here. It is unfortunate when you have money you want to spend and a seller has a product they want to sell but you can't do anything about it. Will the switch to Adyen fix this problem?
