Calculated Shipping Errors

Updated shipping from flat rate to calculated shipping today.  Wish I hadn't now.

I have my shipping preferences set to give the buyer the eBay discounted postage rate.  So, a 3 oz. package should be $2.66 at the discounted rate, but some of my listings show $2.66 and the majority show the full retail rate of $3.50.   This is happening for any size package.  I haven't even looked at Priority to check those.  The first class error is big enough.

Next problem is on the shipping tab.  Buyers can enter a quantity in the box and select Get Rates to display the shipping rate for that quantity.  This no longer works on any of my listings.  If you enter a number and click Get Rates, it does nothing and resets the page.  Domestic or international, neither works.

Next problem.  On the Shipping Preferences page under my account, I selected to give the buyers the eBay discounted rate.  This is now permanet.  If I choose to offer no discounts and click save, I get a red exclamation point at the top and a blank error message.  Cannot make any changes to this now.

Problems happen on regular and multi variation listings.  Bulk edit or standard edit produces same results.  Nothing fixes this.

So, now my shipping is WAY high and I can't fix it.  I really don't want tro have to go back to flat rate shipping as I hate editing it everytime postage rates change and free shipping is not an option and shouldn't even be suggested by anyone.

Any suggestions from  you eBay tech people?

Hi @jbcoutfitters, can you double check that the displayed discount is still showing as an incorrect amount and if so, give me some item number examples? I checked your listings right now and only see the $2.66 discounted rate being displayed. This may have just taken some time to update on your end but I'm here to dig into it with you if you are still having issue.

As for the carrier-specific discounts section, I was able to recreate this issue and have reported it to our tech teams for review. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Re: Calculated Shipping Errors

I reverted all of my listings back to flat rate shipping this morning. After discussing this with some other sellers, I have decided to wait a bit to try again. Hopefully any bugs will be worked out soon. Thanks.

Hi @jbcoutfitters, thanks for the update! While you aren't trying this out currently, I do want to let you know that normally when you update your shipping preferences to calculated and offer a carrier discount to your buyers this should be reflected in your listings and search to buyers within 24 hours. If this does not occur, doing a "blank revision" of your listings will typically fix what appears in search. This would entail sending your items to the bulk edito and then submitting your "changes" (even though no changes are necessary). The way your items are displayed in search would then update within 24 hours. Keep me posted if you add shipping discounts in the future and run into issues!

Re: Calculated Shipping Errors

I for one am tired of having to answer buyer questions about "how much to ship if I buy x" because the shipping tab won't give them rates for multiples.
Reality is the leading cause of stress.

Re: Calculated Shipping Errors

How about buyers asking to cancel orders because eBay Checkout is quoting them telephone numbers.

PS- And if the shipping tab did work, it'd be quoting them telephone numbers too.
