Buy 3, Get Three Promo Not Showing In Search Results

I've been listing with a buy 3, get three promotion for several months.  In addition, I'm paying top dollar to promote my listings.  That's been working out really well.  Until this past weekend.  Search results for my products are still appearing at the top of the results, but with no mention of the buy 3, get 3 promo.  Instead, searches return either FREE 4 Day Shipping in green, OR, they see Free Shipping on one line and Free Returns on a second line.  

NO MENTION OF THE BUY 3 GET 3 PROMOTION!

The promotion still appears on our listing pages - but not in search results.  This has cost us a TON of sales over the past 3 days as potential customers don't see the deal and simply don't click on the search result.

Nothing - NOTHING has changed on our end.  Still the same settings.  Others in the search results still have the promotions they are running appearing in search.  This simply pulls our customers away and sends them to competitors.

I really need this fixed to make things profitable again.  Without it, we are essentially out of business with an occasional single sale.

Hi, have you checked the end date of your store promotions? I've had promos just end like that and when I went back and checked, I realized I didn't set the end date out far enough.

If it did end, it's really easy to start back up - just go to Seller Hub>Marketing>Promotions, find the expired promo, select "Copy" and you'll be back in business.

Unfortunately, that's not the issue in play here.  Like you, I thought that may have been the problem.  Checked it this morning and found the promotion is still good till later on this year.

The individual listings show the promotion.  It's the search listings that don't show it.  We normally sell a large number of these buy 3 get three free deals daily - even more on the weekend.  Thanks to this not appearing in the search results, our sales were down over 70% this weekend.  We've not sold one of these deals since Friday - something that never happens.

I've searched on this and found that several people have run into this in the past.  None have gotten an answer as to why this happens or what can be done to rectify the situation.  However, some folks mentioned that they had success when posting to this board, so I figured I'd give it a shot as well and hope that someone at eBay will see this and be able to correct the problem.

This is really, really frustrating.  It's those buy 3 get three deals that make it worthwhile to sell here on eBay.  Without those deals, we are only selling singles which by themselves do not pay the bills.  Here's to hoping that someone on eBay can get this resolved for us quickly.

Oh I see what you mean - your promos are only showing on the banner within the listing, but not in search results (exactly what you said in the first place 😩).

I just wanted to say thanks again for taking the time to respond yesterday.  No luck yet, but I'm going to give support a shot today and see if I have any luck.  Thanks again for the reply and for trying to get someone to help.  It was really appreciated.

Spent an hour on text messaging with support yesterday.  Got absolutely nowhere.  The person couldn't understand the difference between the listing page and the search results page.  Then he told me that the messages returned on the search results page are "system-generated".  In our case, he said the system decided that the free shipping message would drive more visitors to our category than the buy three, get 3 free message.  WRONG!  

I told him that our competitors are still showing the buy three, get three messages.  At that point, he said he'd bring it up in the next meeting.  Next meeting?  How about talking with someone NOW?

A waste of an hour and our sales continue to be in the tank over a SIMPLE fix.  But they won't do it.

Why am I wasting my time on eBay again?  Because of all the traffic they can bring me?  Yeah, if I'm paying an extra % to advertise, sure.  And I've done it for some time now.  Makes sense when things are running as they have right along.  It really makes no sense if they won't listen to someone when they are told that their "system" decision on MY listings is costing me a ton of money.  If I wanted a job working for eBay, I'd apply.  I prefer running my own business, but as the days go on, it's quite apparent that this isn't a sole proprietorship, it's a **bleep** job working for eBay.

Yep, I know.  If I don't like it, I can leave.  That's a great attitude for eBay to have.  I really don't understand how they've lasted so long.  I guess it's because they cow-tow to all of the big-time players and the manufacturers from China.  But the solo guy in NH here in the US?  Who needs him?  Not us.

I guess at the end of the day, it really isn't a big deal in light of what's going on around the world these days.  I'd bet any of those folks in Afghanistan or Haiti (and many other places) would gladly switch places with me.  Yeah, our eBay business pays the bills when things are running as they should.  Not so much when they make the switch that they did on us last week.  But in the grand scheme of things, there's a whole lot to be thankful for.

@matchbookrelics  Any resolution on this?  I'd like the promotions to show on the search listing results as well.   Otherwise, your item looks much more expensive than it might be and might not even open it as they compare to others.  Right now I only seem to the the % of promotions in the search results.  (And I use a different ID to check just to make sure that it's not just the seller's ID that doesn't see it.)

@matchbookrelics I looked at some other categories that use the buy x get y free promotions and they DO seem to show up in red for them (e.g. books has a lot). 

I did some experimentation this week and have found that if instead of a "buy x get y order discount" promotion, I use a "buy x get y public coupon" promotion that it shows in red again in the search results (takes a few minutes), but at least there is a workaround.   I think I will try that in the future.

I am in the same boat, promo not showing up in search results, only shows once you are inside the actual listing. Yet every listing around me, selling the same thing, has their discount displayed in search results. Made sure display priority was “1”, yet the only thing that shows up in search results is Free Shipping. Tried different browsers, incognito mode, the app, all the same result. While my listings are generally at the top, if someone’s price is near mine AND showing a discount in search results, if I were a buyer, I am going to the one displaying the discount first. Absolutely pointless. One of my listings STILL displays a promotion (in search results) that I ended a couple days ago; it doesn’t even apply anymore. And once you get inside the listing, it shows the different/active promotion.

Also chatted with a rep, who “escalated it”. Holding zero hope.

Sales went from 10-20 a day to maybe 1 or 2, and those have been organic.

did you manage to resolve this problem? Im in the same position, I keep contacting ebay, every time they give me different explanation and nobody resolve it. I have promotion buy 5 get 1 free as all my competitors, we have the same prices, shipping costs etc. My promotion runs for almost a year so it is not new. All of them have red info in ebay search, mine have nothing, only on listing page. So, of course,  I look more expensive. Also on the top of it I pay for promoting my listing and suddenly they are not on 1,2,3 page in big numbers, but only by 1 or 2. Nothing change on my side. Im so frustrated.
