Blocked Buyer List

Something happened to the BBL and all the ID's are jumbled up.  Is there a way to re-alphabetize them?  Thanks!

For those who need to see their list alphabetically, here is a script that can sort the list.

Copy the code and save to your computer with a name like "sorter.html"

When clicked, a browser window will open.

Paste your jumbled list into the top box, and the tool will alphabetize the list into the bottom box.

The list is sorted with trailing commas, in case it is to be pasted back into eBay, although eBay will simply sort it again by registration date (age of the account).

@shipscript, very, very helpful!  What a great little utility!  Thank you very much for taking the time to create and post.

I called them yesterday (10/03) and asked why it's now jumbled and not in alphabetical order as it has been for years. The answer given to me was that it always shows the last buyer blocked listed first.

Clueless C/S as usual.  It has not always been that way.  It was that way for awhile, early on, but it's been alphabetical for years now.  But of course, we users know that.  Ebay doesn't know it.    It sure would be nice if someone could page Ebay into this thread (I'd do it but I don't remember the ID's), so that someone at Ebay could tell us WHY this happened & if it's intended to stay this way.  Cuz it's a mess with the crazy weird breaks & complete change of the order.

I was with you as far as .................. If so, they can be saved to a txt file in notepad..................  ,and then every thing after that is just like the new BBL.

The BBL issue was brought up on today's weekly chat, so eBay has again been made aware.

The "blue" that responded did not seem to think that it was anything that "eBay" would have done. It will be passed along to the appropriate teams.

Thanks for the update.  As usual, they don't know what they've done.   If many people are experiencing the exact same thing, then it most certainly IS something EBay has done.  But then you probably knew that LOL.

@buyselljack2016

How may I help with an interim solution?  Would you like instructions on using Excel to sort the list? Alternatively the small code I created will sort a list when pasted into a "plain text" file, saved, and given a file extension of HTML instead of TXT. Would you like more detailed instructions on using it?  My strategy is to find solutions and workarounds while waiting for eBay's programmers to fix their problems.

This is what tyler@ebay said:  Ouch, that would make a long BBL pretty unusable. I know Brian is working on getting it reported, we'll make sure that your input is shared!

This is what brian@ebay said: Yikes that doesn't sound like an intended change to the BBL.

I'll be sure to get this over to the right team. Thanks for letting us know about it!

Didn't want sellers to get the idea that eBay is denying there is a problem. Unfortunately, we all know that some fixes can take quite some time as the programmers typically triage the worst, or most widespread, issues first.

Lol classic CS response.

Caller: Hey your ____ has changed and isn't performing correctly.

Ebay CS: You're probably mistaken. It's always been that way.

Sorry for the slow reply. Did not get back to this thread until today.

Thanks for offering, but BBL is not that critical of an issue.. I would only need to go there ever so occasionally to see if an ID was on there, so the detailed instructions that would be needed for me comprehend would not be worth the time you would need to expend to get me beyond notepad...... 😁

My BBL is all better now last I looked. 🙂

Thanks for posting the "blue" exact quote.

What I posted, highlighted in blue , and what Brian posted, highlighted in blue, are in essence the same thing.
