If you are a buyer/viewer seeing a black box over a listing description, then temporarily adjusting your Chrome zoom level down 1 or more times (Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Down OR Ctrl and - on the keyboard OR go to Settings -> Zoom and click -) should allow you to remove the black box at a lower zoom, assuming the description section isn't huge. If it's huge then you'll have to upgrade to Chrome 77 beta or use Firefox or another browser.
If you're a seller and your concern is buyers not being able to read your description due to the black box overlaying your description, then read above about potential workarounds by decreasing the vertical height of the description.

I'm having the same issue while using google chrome while viewing photos on ebaymotors. If I open it up using firefox or explorer no problem.
BTW this just started a few weeks ago for me.

The relevant issue has been identified on the Chromium bug site and is under review.

Thanks to Chrome user "the Core" for helping identify the relevant bug conversation.

If you are experiencing this issue in a Chrome or Chromium-based version 76 browser then you can help make the concern known by logging into the Chromium bug site clicking the "Star" icon in the top-left to show your confirmation of the issue.
DO NOT GO TO THE BUG SITE AND POST ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY YOU ARE LOSING OR WHY THEY "NEED TO FIX THIS ASAP". In many cases the developers on these projects are volunteers and will not respond well to whining. Instead, simply clicking the star icon will cast your vote on the concern without igniting a storm of useless banter.

Has anybody contacted support and got an open ticket with eBay? I want to confirm they are aware of the Chromium bug report. While the issue is in Chrome and Chromium 76 it's also possible eBay could provide some sort of patch that would immediately fix things instead of waiting on a Chrome patch to be release and downloaded by millions of people.

they are aware but you should report as well. Discussions with ebay have been fruitless but more people will get this on their radar.
Try to get a ticket # and have them forward to tech support

this is their solution (useless... I know 😐 )
Thank you for contacting eBay Customer Service. I understand how important it is for you to know why your listings description becomes black page. I’ll be glad to assist you with this.
###, we appreciate you for sending us the link. At the same time, I carefully checked your account, and I can confirm that the item description is showing on the page, and I don’t see any technical issue that is going through. At the same time, I believe this is not on eBay side. So to identify this issue, I highly advise you to do some workarounds on this matter, please follow the steps below:
Here’s how:
o Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome:
§ Press CTRL+SHIFT+DELETE to go directly to the Delete menu
o Android:
§ Open the browser, tap the Menu button, tap More, scroll down to the Privacy Settings, and tap Clear Cache/Clear all Cookie Data
o Safari for Mac:
§ Click the Safari menu on the upper left of the screen, click on Preferences, click the Privacy tab, and then click Remove All Website Data
o Safari for iPad/iPhone:
§ From the Home screen, choose Settings. Select Safari from the settings menu. Tap the Clear History and Website Data button near the bottom of the page
2. Use a different browser
3. Reboot the computer
4. Uninstall and install the browser
5. Use a different device
Your cooperation and understanding on this matter is much appreciated. I am glad I was able to provide you information on this matter.

this issue has been going on for months since the older beta was introduced by google chrome. They will continue to blame one another.

Yes. I am a classic auto dealer on ebay. They are telling me it's a Chrome issue. Chrome changed some things and ebay is not complying with the changes yet. Their suggestion is to tell my customers to view my ads on a different browser or use their phone or ipad. I can't do that when I don't know who my customers are. I advertise worldwide and I have no idea who is looking at my ads. For what I pay eBay per month, they should do a better job for me.

Listings that had descriptions rendering as a black frame now appear to be rendering correctly for me using Chrome version 76.0.3809.132.
Here is one example listing that until recently was not working for me using any zoom level:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/352761936346
Now it looks good in the latest Chrome for me.

@eburtonlab I just upgrade to the same Version 76.0.3809.132 (Official Build) (64-bit) Ubuntu 18.04 LTS 3 and still see the black box at a higher zoom.
Try https://www.ebay.com/itm/173416017179 at 125%+ zoom level.

Try https://www.ebay.com/itm/173416017179 at 125%+ zoom level.
That description loads fine for me at any zoom level in Chrome 76.0.3809.132.
Back when this first began happening I tried changing several Chrome settings in an unsuccessful attempt to fix things; it is possible that one of those changes may be responsible for the behavior of my Chrome browser now.

I have the same problem! At first I thought it was Inkfrog but now I realized it is the browser Google Chrome...I deleted the cookies and cache but the problem is still there!
