Best Offer / Accept Offer not working

For the past week or so, I have tried to buy items using Best Offer. Every time I click on Best Offer, absolutely nothing happens. This has happened every day on every item I have tried to use Best Offer. (This is in the Toys & Hobbies section) Now, I contacted a seller who I asked to send me an Offer, sent me the offer I requested, but every time I click on Accept Offer, absolutely nothing happens. I never had a problem like this before this past week.

What browser are you using? Is it the latest version?

 

Any difference if you use another browser?

Have had customer also complain about this, been going on for 2-3 days and off and on for over a year.

I have the opposite problem & even contacted the support chat.

 

When I try to "Accept" an offer made by a potential buyer, absolutely nothing happens. I tried two different browsers. 

 

The chat bot (or possibly person, but I'm not certain) said as a workaround, to send the buyer an invoice. That's not an option on unsold items that I'm aware of, so I had to end the listing, then relist with the offer they made, send them a link, and hope no one else snatched it up before they could. There were several watching that particular item. 

 

I'm very tempted to edit my listings & take out OBO because it does not work.

Are you using Adblocker Ultimate? Some users with that ad blocker indicated problems bidding or making offers until that add-on was uninstalled.

 

If that is not the problem, perhaps there is another add-on causing issues. Try temporarily disabling add-ons to see if that makes any difference.

 

In the mean time, try accepting offers using the eBay app or the browser on your phone.

I'm using Firefox and I am not having that issue.  I can accept offers without any issues.

 

Clearing cookies/cache might also help.

I have no ad-blockers or add-ons. This is a clean, work-only computer & I have not added any additional things to the browsers. I'll try making sure that both Chrome & Edge are the most recent versions. (Windows 10 OS, if that matters.) I'll also try clearing the cache. 

 

The phone browser offers another issue: Without logging in and then finding listed items under our seller name shows a list of the items w/BIN & Shipping Amount right under the price. 

 

However, once I click on an individual item, the only thing that shows up for shipping is Free Local Pick Up. 

 

I honestly don't want to attempt to do business on or install more apps on my personal phone (this is a family business & the account belongs to the matriarch. Her items, but I do all the listing, shipping, etc but not from my house). This laptop is strictly for eBay and was purchased for that reason.

 

I was just sick yesterday & decided to look up our account from my phone hoping nothing had sold based on the number of listings because I was on 3 different antihistamines and was a total balloon head. That's when I noticed the shipping amount issue.

Make sure you are signed in to the same eBay account. You must be signed in to the same account in order to accept an offer.

 

I see two shipping methods plus a local pickup option for your latest listing. A quick scan of your listings shows a shipping amount specified for each to my location.

I only ever sign into this account for eBay. I don't have an eBay account for myself since I left my ex in the early 2000s back in the dial-up days.

 

The shipping issue is from Android browser (Google) & occurs when NOT signed in. I won't be signing in to the only eBay account I have access to from my personal phone. The account is for work. 

 

The specified shipping amount shows up on the list of items while NOT signed in, with the thumbnail pics. Once I open a specific item, any specific item, the only thing I see is the local pick up option. 

 

What phone browser did you use to look at our list of items, and to choose a couple to check shipping prices on?

I used Firefox on my Win 10 desktop initially, but I get the same results using Chrome on my Android phone.

 

You may need to specify a shipping address or at least a valid zip code in order to see the shipping options, which may be why you do not see them when not signed in.

There is not a place to add a location or zip. It's not the same layout as from a computer.

All of the items don't show as previously owned either, and they all very much are. I also state as much when listing.

There is not a place to add a location or zip. It's not the same layout as from a computer.

 

If you are using a mobile browser, from the search results go to the Filter menu, select Item location and you should have a place to enter a zip code to search within a certain distance.

Neither Filter, nor Sort do anything when I tap them. The 3 lines at the top right give me options for deals, logging in, etc, but Filter does nothing. 

 

This is sounding like anyone interested in buying something must be logged in to even see all of the information that sellers input on their listings, rather than finding something they like, hitting BIN, then being prompted to log in or create an account. Backwards imo. 

 

I made a separate post about this btw. I feel like I'm detracting from the original post which is about something else.

What browser type and version are you using?

 

Filter and Sort menus work for me using Chrome on and Android mobile phone when not signed in.

Chrome on Android. 

 

Now, after making my comments & separate post, when I try to make a listing (on a fully updated Win10 laptop using most recent version of Chrome) it absolutely will not keep the box dimensions or show a shipping range after I choose Priority Mail. It tried to force First Class Mail on an item just over 1 lb & when I try to correct it, it just deletes the dimensions.

 

It also removed my free pickup option that's supposed to be saved in my settings.

 

I really don't know why sooooo many problems are constant with eBay and why it all has to be so much more complicated than it has to be.
