I have been selling on eBay since 1998 or more than 23 years. My blocked bidder list has 5000 names which I am told is the limit. I have talked to eBay several times the past week and all said they would get back to me, however, I really wonder if they know how to call a buyer.

additionally, I have tried to randomly delete some blocked bidders, say all at the top or all on the 2 lines at the bottom, however, the system will NOT allow me to add a new blocked bidder. eBay used to have a phone number I could call, now they refuse to help me, saying the number is for sellers who spend several hundred dollars a month on a store. So now I go to the top of the page, HELP & CONTACT, and scroll down the choices until I get to a link that says: HAVE EBAY CONTACT YOU; and then I get a person who has no idea about my problem, and often transfers me to another, and 90% of the time they hang up on me and I have to start over. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING FOR THIS SELLER WHO HAS BEEN A CUSTOMER OF EBAY FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS

Holy Crap! Never came across someone with that many blocked buyers. Although I can’t help you with contacting eBay, from a programing and performance standpoint, there are always limits. So it is not surprising.

Curious what your criteria is for blocking buyer are?

For us, 90% is for non-paying. We do maintenance about twice a year and remove those deleted users from the list. Our blocked buyers have gone down dramatically ever since we set strict buyer requirements and changed how we handle offers. We don’t do auction much, so no problems there. Can’t remember adding a single one in 2021 due to non-payment

Not sure if this will work; but give it a try:

Go to your blocked buyer's list, and click on the icon that allows you to add a name. It's possible that several (maybe many) of the names which you had previously added since 1998 may simply disappear.

I discovered this on my own a while back, when I was adding a new name to my BBL: When I added the new name, I received a notice from eBay that some of the names on the list were no longer eBay members, and those names had been deleted.

Worth a try, right?

Hi @jeffone! There is a limit of 5,000. There have been some good suggestions by others here and if after deleting some buyers from your list, you could try clearing the cache and cookies. I suggest this because there may be old info getting hung up and the system doesn't realize you have freed up spots for new usernames.

I tried to delete parts of the list, however, when I went to the SUBMIT button, it was grayed out and it would NOT let me delete anything.

Any difference if you try another browser? Preferably the latest version of a popular browser such as Firefox or Chrome, with no add-ons enabled.

It might be worth copying your entire BBL and pasting it into a text file as a backup. Then try editing a copy of the file. Copy a portion of the text and see if you can paste it over your current BBL.
