Yesterday a CS rep told me to archive an order that was shipped on Oct. 19, the order showed is was shipped, yet it was stuck in Orders awaiting shipment. When I archived the order, it did get removed from Orders awaiting shipment. However it did NOT get moved to archive. Instead it disappeared into eBay's black hole - vanished - poof, gone.

from the seller hub 'orders' box, did you click on the 'show more' drop down menu to expose 'Archived' ?

When I click on Seller Hub -> Orders then 'Archived' is one of the selections shown on the left hand choices. When I click on 'Archived" I'm only shown the labels, but NO archived orders are shown.

eBay was supposed to do the necessary inputs when the order was archived. When I try to follow your advice by selecting "Add/Edit Note" I get this message: "Please select at least one listing and try again." Since there are NO listings in my Archive, I can't select one. If you know of a way for me to provide the necessary inputs, please let me know. Until then, I still maintain Archive is broken. I do appreciate your trying to help.
