I see you are registered in the UK. Are you trying to sell on ebay.com or ebay.co.uk? If the latter, you may want to sign out of the US site.
If you are still having issues, try posting on the UK community boards to see if there is a problem on that end:

Yes on iphone 7 several days in row but not on desktop computer. Frustrating as like using phone to check shipment status. Will feature be fixed soon?

I'm getting this issue too (macOS Mojave 10.14.6, any browser) but it's only on the front page of ebay.com for me. Buying works fine. Haven't tried selling. I tried ebay.co.uk and ebay.com.au but they don't have this issue.
The issue popped up about a week ago.
Tried turning off all scripts, ad blocking, etc. and clearing cookies/browser cache but nothing fixes it.
Using Cloudflare DNS, but trying Google DNS doesn't solve the issue.
Also tried this with mobile tethering (i.e. using a different internet connection) and I'm still having the same issue. No other computer to try (phones aside) until next week so I can't be sure it's not my end but it seems this is an eBay problem.
Makes very little sense to me though - the front page appears to load fine (apart from a few resources, according to the console) but then redirects me to this page with error 500. Would love a solution, if only because this is inconvenient.

Do I understand correctly that only the front page of ebay.com that gives you the error, but once you get past the front page, other functions up to and including buying are working for you?
Have you tried bookmarking and going through the site map to other pages instead?

Is there some specific reason you need to see the main page? Perhaps there is another page that provides the same functionality that avoids the error.
I can understand that eBay would not want their main page to redirect to an error message, and that is certainly a problem, particularly for unsophisticated users who may conclude that eBay is down. But if this is only affecting a small number of users, eBay may not be aware of the problem you are experiencing at all.
Looking at downdetector, it appears that there are some reports of eBay problems from Auckland, but I do not know how that compares relative to the baseline numbers:

(OP), I too have seen that lately, and something else has been happening to me for several days now--I thought it may have been just me or my account, but I've had several sellers (and counting) comment about the messages here not working. (NO "Ebay Doug", it is NOT "working now")! I no longer get any emails even though "Send a copy to my personal email address" is always checked, and the people to whom I'm sending messages rarely get them! I even tried a search for that phrase and nothing! They haven't mentioned a **bleep** thing about it here at the message boards, not on their "Announcements" page, NOR at their FaceBook page! Now I'm not even getting what I send in my "Sent" folder so I don't even have a frickin' RECORD anymore of what I send! This is MOST SERIOUS because this is SERIOUSLY screwing up buys, sales, AND auctions! Don't let them feed you any of their **bleep** about "nothing is wrong" or "...it's working now"! https://community.ebay.com/t5/Technical-Issues/email-check-box-quot-send-a-copy-to-my-personal-email... .
