If you have not sold in awhile, you are now considered same as new sellers and will have to re-establish yourself as a regular seller.
PayPal is no longer the payment processor on eBay - eBay's Managed Payment system(Adyen) is now the payment processor, although buyers can still use PayPal.
Micro deposits are to verify your bank account for future deposits of sales monies. As always, You ship within your designated processing time...eBay notifies you that the item(s) is/are to be shipped.
If this is all a deal breaker for you, then perhaps selling online is not for you>most selling venues require banking info/verification process/withholding of payments until items are successfully delivered and/or until after several sales that confirm the seller is meeting the criteria and has established self as a reliable seller on said site.

eBay's fees for sellers are seen in several places. Why would you be surprised?
That item sold for $900 plus shipping plus state sales tax if applicable.
So go back, add those all together and then return and tell us if you were charged more than 12.55% in fees.

If you’re making your buyers wait, you won’t be selling here much longer.

Yes it is wrong, the buyer should not under any circumstances have to wait for you to ship - eBay tells you it is safe to ship - buyer has paid - use pending funds for the shipping - and send it.
As to taking a sale off eBay WOW, just WOW.

I think you misunderstood the poster. In your red highlighted portion, they clearly state that they did not take it off eBay sale even though they could have.

I think it is more so the "suggestion" of taking a sale off site but chose not... but to even imply or suggest that as a possibility is mind-boggling....like why would OP even throw that out there?...OP's rant leaves a lot of implications about their thought process..

The OP is clearly upset at the situation, but I did not take their comment about an off-site sale as anything other than expressing their frustration.

Obviously, other posters did--myself included. A difference of perspective, to which we're all entitled.
Thanks, and make sure and have a nice day, now! 😉

A rip off would be not telling you what they charge. Ebay is very upfront about their fees. Ignorance does not make it a rip off.

Why does the buyer have to wait 4-5 days before you ship?

Your handling times begins when the buyer pays eBay. If eBay says awaiting shipment they paid and that payment is on the way and can't be cancelled by the buyer.

"Why does the buyer have to wait 4-5 days before you ship?"
I think they are waiting until the funds from the sale hit their account (4-5 days?) before they ship.
I think there may be a disconnect here on when new sellers get paid after submitting their Managed Payments info also.
Not a good start...
