I haven't done this yet but am I reading it correctly that they want our password for our account? Why?

You should be able to sign up using the routing and account number.

Your right, you should be able to sign up without your password.

In fact, you can sign up without giving your password.

But when I went through the process a month ago, that there is an alternate sign up method is explained only if you read the fine print and make a few more clicks. Further, the alternative to providing one's password is made to sound so much more complicated and tenuous.

So I submit, it must be that they do want our passwords.
