Re: confused

Are you absolutely sure the card doesn't have an active amount in it? My opinion would be to contact the card issuer and check with them as to what you should do next.

Re: confused

... I would also immediately inform the seller through messaging - find that item in purchases and click "more actions"  (" contact the seller"), and have them see if they did actually receive a payment notification for that particular item.

Re: confused

You and me both. The card should have contact info for the issuing bank on the back. If the charge went through, there had to be a balance on it. Its pretty much down to checking with them at this point.

Re: confused

See if there is a number on the back of the card and call.  And definitely alert the seller if there is no money.  I am leaning towards that there was some money on the card.

Re: confused

Did you buy this gift card from a seller on ebay?  When you bought it, were the numbers on the card exposed that perhaps someone else copied the numbers and used the card?

Re: confused

Are you sure the card had no value on it?   Purchases made with a gift card use the gift card value first and then switch to your outer payment method on file for the rest of it.   That could have been charged if the card could not handle the full amount.
