Must use bank account to receive payments from eBay. PayPal fazed out.

The new directive from eBay is that you have to use your bank account ignorer to receive funds from buyers and to pay fees. I am a bit apprehensive about eBay having access to my account when they need payment for fees, etc.Am I being too paranoid?
