I'm not going to complain about being a member for almost twenty five years and sound entitled and all...
I started selling again in March '23 and have sold a few things with no hang-ups regarding payments. I had two auctions for identical items; one sold on 21 June and the other on 30 June. I received payment on the second item just three days after shipping but the first one sold isn't scheduled to release funds until 22 June. I don't get this.
Ebay is so geared towards protecting the customer, but the seller? This ain't your father's ebay and this is makes absolutely no sense. I guess this is how they chased off a lot of the old guard.

You mean July 22. Maybe they're holding the payment because the buyer makes a lot of refunds.
Maybe they made a mistake releasing the first payment. Usually there is a payment hold when you haven't sold within 90 days. They treat you like a new seller all over again.

Maybe ebay is concerned because your description raised red flags.
This is what I see and read:
1. New seller
2. Stock images
3. Same supposedly custom-ordered item with same description
4. Priced at <25% of other online stores with same item
Having sold 2 of the same item but listing BOTH with the same description stating that the item was purchased for a specific no-show customer, ebay is worried that you may not actually have 2 of the items. And with 2-$500 sales, ebay wants to make sure the funds are available for refunds in case it's needed.

I've sold five items since March. The no-show thing has nothing to do with ebay, just explaining to potential buyers why I have this new kit selling below MSRP. It was at my shop and we're just trying to recoup some of the loss incurred. Ebay has really changed and not for the better.
