Re: Ssn

Have you been accepted into Managed payments?  It could be something to do with that....because they need that information to send you the payments.........  I'd certainly not give the info to a popup........but I would go to Seller hub/payment tab to see if the info they have in it is Ok..........

Re: Ssn

Was the "pop up" in regard to enrollment in eBay's Managed Payments program for all sellers? If so, failure to enroll will ultimately mean you will not be able to sell on eBay.

It's up to you, of course. You have to decide whether you want to give eBay the exact information you gave PayPal when you signed up with them, or stop selling on this platform altogether. Your choice.

Re: Ssn

It looks like the OP is already in Managed Payments. What is going on? Is Ebay just dumping sellers into MP and then sending them a pop-up (good luck sending me one as I block those things) asking them for the information without sending all the various emails they say they send to notify sellers of MP before actually putting them in the program? I've seen posts from 3 or 4 sellers in the last week that are in MP but seem to have never received any emails. Is Ebay trying to pull as many sellers as they can into MP for the Christmas buying season?

Re: Ssn

It’s interesting and I have read several responses to similar posts where people have mentioned that “You” had already given your SSN to PayPal.

Guess what, I never gave mine to PayPal.

Maybe it’s because I mainly buy things and not sell very much but the only thing they ever asked me for was a bank account which I was able to sidestep without doing so by adding an additional credit card.

Maybe they (eBay) are required to have it for the IRS but as such I would assume that they would use a W-4 form just like my employer does.
