Sketchy Offer?

I’m selling some old video games, and one I listed at $55 (on the lower end of what people are paying for the same game. Typically around $60-$65). I just received an offer of $120 from an account with a couple hundred positive feedback. In fact they don’t have a single negative feedback. The amount just feels iffy.

Since my account is newer, I can’t get paid immediately, so if i accept this offer, how do I ensure I get paid?

Or is there a way to know whether this is fake or not?

All buyers have only positive feedback because thats all that sellers are allowed to leave them. I would be leery of any buyer who offers more than the listed price. If he pays, you will get a notice from Ebay. Otherwise, you can go to sellers hub and check there for the payment.

Is the address in the USA and not "freight forward"...Check the buyer's ID. I always check the buyer's ID.

Has the buyer purchased same items in the past? Most good buyers do. Has the buyer purchased from some of the same sellers? That is also a good sign.

The problem with positive feedback of a buyer is that a lot of sellers give positive feedback immediately and then a buyer can open a claim. Not saying this would happen but it's out there.

If you decide to sell and get buyer's address...google buyer's address to see if it's a house, apartment  or where the buyer works. That is also a good sign. Good luck.

Why would they make an offer of $120 when they can just buy it for $55?

It's a scam.

They'll probably ask you to include gift cards or try to get you to contact them outside of Ebay so they can send you a fake email saying you've been paid.

Have a great day.

Anytime your offered more than the selling price, look out. SCAMMER.

Your a new seller and they always attract scammers, like old pianos and woodworm.

Since you listed as an auction with the best offer feature it is normal to receive higher offers than the starting bid amount.

Personally, I would not list with the best offer feature.
