I just sold my first item since eBay changed to managed payments. I'm old school and don't sell alot, just occasionally. I've always used/paid shipping at the post since I don't have a computer or printer. I've noticed that after my item sold today that the payment isn't showing the shipping costs. Can I still pay shipping through post office without going through eBay? Will ebay give me my shipping costs back (into my bank account)? In the future, would it just be better to raise my prices and include shipping? Thanks 😊

Ebay will give you all the money that the buyer paid less their fees. Your responsibility is to ship within your stated handling time. You can continue to buy your postage at the post office as you have done in the past, but you will have to front the money for doing so, as Managed Payments takes a couple of days to send your money to your bank account, plus the bank takes a few more days to post it to your account.

Ebay will register the total amount that was paid on the item, including the shipping fee you charge (hopefully you're getting that from the buyer? Your last sentence prompts that question). If you ship with ebay you can have the option for them to take it out of the pending payments. Since you're just going to the post office, you'll have to front the money to ship out the item until the transaction comes through from ebay.
