Sellers Periodic Performance Review causing problems

I am on my 10th day of this performance review and a buyer is waiting for their item which I cannot ship before I get paid and doesn’t seem that ebay cares. How long does this last? It’s costing me money and time while ebay is holding $2800! It was the sale of a large item that triggered it. But taking down more than 100 listings seems extreme! Why leave a buyer wait 10 days for item to be shipped! The buyer can even open a case of not delivered item! They contact ebay who tells them ebay will ask me to ship and when they get the item I get paid! I have contacted ebay by phone and chat without result. All they wanted from me was proof that my sold items were delivered. This information is easily verifiable in the sold items. I have sent it and haven’t heard anything. It seems more of a lame excuse to me to keep my account suspended when they keep my payout!
How long did this absurd process last for people? Ebay spokespeople pretending to be ebayers like @mam98031 need NOT reply. Genuine sellers that went through this only! Thanks.

Thanks for this genuine advise. Did this but ebay still doesn’t care. On the good side of things, it’s pusshing me to seriously look into etsy and other platforms.

Your not alone, I’m in the same situation and also looking at other platforms. eBay is corrupt, they say I am a top rated seller but then they want to do a review of my account and won’t tell me the specifics as to why.

You are holding shipments to your buyers?  Why?  You should not be.  Your issues with Ebay are separate and should not be visited on your customers / buyers.

They took down 100 listings?  Now that is unusual unless there were problems with those listings in Ebay's eyes.  What was the reason they closed your listings?  They do send an email when they do this, what did it say?

You are leaving the buyer hanging, not Ebay.  You should have shipped already.

Yes and the buyer is likely to open a claim.  I know I would have it you held my shipment for 10+ days.  Because Ebay is holding your money for whatever reason they have is NOT a reason for you to be holding shipments.  You are only digging yourself a bigger hole in which to get out of.

Oh brother!  If I had of read that last statement first I would not have even bothered responding.  It simply is AMAZING that people such as yourself come here looking for answers and for help, then when there is someone on that thread that is able to offer some answers and help, you attack them.  I was going to give you some pointers, but clearly since you have no respect for me or what I may post.  I wish you the best.

Unless your description of your current issue is incorrect that you posted on another thread, your issue is NOTHING like what this poster has described.  Or are you now saying you are in a Performance Review and having your money held?  Instead of your next payout date currently is not showing on your Payment screen.

When Ebay performs a Performance review, they are random.  But sometimes during that review process they find something that changes things as they see something that is a Security issue.  It them changes to a Security review which does take longer.  Often way too long IMHO.

But now I'm confused, however it does answer why you don't see a payout date.

I made those posts yesterday about not having a payout date scheduled because I had no idea what was going on at the time.  EBay didnt inform me that I was in a periodic review until this morning. I don’t think it’s because of a security issue as eBay says I’m about to be top rated next month but I’m curious what would be an example of a security issue? And how much longer would that kind of review take?

It is really unlikely.  I think your CSR is simply uninformed.  This same problem is happening to too many of us for us all be going into a Periodic review.

It appears to me to be a glitch or they are working on updating the program for the newly added seller options for payouts.  It will likely resolve by tomorrow.

See the attached image. It wasn’t a csr rep that informed me of the periodic review.  I found out cause I saw that note on my payments page. I don’t think it’s because of a security issue as eBay says I’m about to be top rated next month but I’m curious what would be an example of a security issue? Had this happen last week. It took less than 24 hours for the message to go away and payments to resume but I was told it could have been up to 5 business days.

Glad it went that fast for you but I’ve also seen people who said it took the full 5 days and a lot of people who said it took between 5-20 days which is ridiculous and it all seems so random. My guess is that I’ll be one of the unlucky ones and it’ll take at least 5 days

OK, that is different, sorry.  On another thread it was the call center that told them they were on a review but it wasn't accurate.

IDK if it is a Security issue, but that isn't usually how they start out anyway.  The random periodic review happens and if during that review if they find Security issues, then it changes to a Security review which takes longer.

Most Periodic reviews are completed in 4-5 business days.  Far too long for my liking, but it is what they do.

Do they inform you the same day if it’s escalated to a security review?

Sellers Periodic Performance Review causing problems

I think something very corrupt is going on with ebay. I had just sold a significant amount item when ebay froze my payout with the excuse of a performance review. But allowed buyer to open a case of item not recived. I coulnt ship as I hadn’t been paid! I asked ebay to step in. Ebay refunded buyer but shows a negative balance in my account of the amount of their fee and ask me to pay or they will charge card in record! I lost a sale due to ebay being irresponsible and not paying me to ship. But ebay charges me their fee! I am stunned at these corrupt and abusive practices. I am really perplexed at what is going on with ebay.

You are registered in the U.S. but are shipping that $3000 item from Albania? Im sure that set off some red flags and a performance review.Any time a seller asks Ebay to step in, Ebay will rule in the buyers favor, as they see the seller as non performing.

Heck I'm not even sure they tell you until you complain that it is taking longer than 4-5 days.

Ebay's communication on MP related items is beyond horrible and unacceptable, yet they continue to treat us as if we do not have the right to info pertaining to our own account.
