I have a customer who wants to by a few of my items. The problem is that she wants to pay by Postal Money Order. I've been selling on Ebay for 20 years and this is the first time I've had a customer wanting pay this way. What is your opinion on this type of payment?

Just tell the buyer that money orders are no longer allowed.

What is the category? It's allowed in certain categories, like heavy equip. Otherwise no.
eBay used to say you can't ask for a check or money order but if a buyer offered you could accept. Then they changed the policy to specifically say mailed payments are not allowed. It's to protect buyers who pay that way and never receive the item or receive it but it's not as described.
I don't believe you can exchange contact information until the buyer pays. So that alone should keep payments on eBay. (hopefully)

I have a (prospective) buyer who wants to pay by money order--but they're offering 20% over my "buy-it-now" price, and all their positive feedback is the same set of phrases. I'm going to refuse it, because even if there were not all these red flags, I have no idea how to sell it through eBay and accept a money order, so I'm pretty sure it violates the rule about selling off eBay. Any thoughts on this?

The advantage is no matter what, eBay can't take the payment back if a case is filed.
The down side is the risk of fake postal money orders. They were all the rage before on line payment.
