Payoneer data retention

Since eBay is bullying sellers to use Payoneer, for weeks now we have been trying to get the following information from payoneer:

1. If we close our payoneer account in the future, what happens all that comprehensive private data we gave them? After several weeks and 9 emails asking the same question all we could get out of them was that they keep the data for 5 years after you delete you account. But they don't automatically delete YOUR data after 5 years. You have to request it but since you deleted your account that is not possible. So in other words they keep it forever and any company that buys Payoneer down the line has your data as well.

2. We asked another simple question, "what countries do you keep your servers" as we want to know where our confidential information is potentially stored. Payoneer simply will not answer, they just ignore it or say something like "we are safe, you should believe us because we said so".  Most of the time though their reply is a random unrelated response to the questions.

We are frustrated that they demand all data from us to "vet" us to see if we can be trusted and yet they seem to have a problem when we want to check if they can be trusted. It works both ways and given what they are demanding, it is not an unreasonable request I believe. They have done nothing to make us feel they are trustworthy, in fact their arrogance and evasive replies make us very very suspicious and have to wonder why eBay picked them. They must have something to hide.

Can anyone offer any advice on anything written above, or has anyone else got any better info than I got.

Ebay is not bullying people in to Payneer.

You are in Japan. This is the US board.

No advice, but I imagine that all payment processors asked more or less the same thing.......

Well, the reading I have done on Payoneer is that it's a US based company, I understand that they are requiring a lot of information and I.D. problems and taking up to 2 months before you get on board with it. 

     I tried to read as much as I can but they keep wanting me to sign up!

Maybe some of the others can answer more about it. Best to you.

This is the U.S. board, and U.S. sellers don't use Payoneer so I  doubt if anyone here can help.  The eBay/Payoneer arrangment is relatively new and is for sellers in East and South Asia.  I understand your concerns, and hope you can find the answers you need.

Payoneer uses Google and Amazon data centers located in the USA, according to W3Techs.
