I had an offer I accepted. I received a message today that read I needed to send an invoice to customer so I can receive payment thru PayPal. Ebay handles my payments. What should I do?

You're being scammed. If you send a PayPal invoice, you'll get a fake email telling you that you've been paid.
Ignore the request. eBay will automatically cancel the sale for nonpayment by the middle of next week. You can relist, but I strongly suggest that you not use the offer process.

It doesn't hurt to send them another invoice through Ebay. It is really easy to do and will only take you a moment. They may not realize in the email they got from Ebay notifying them that the offer was accepted that they could pay from that email or they can go to their purchased items and pay from there.
Who knows why they want it, it doesn't hurt to send them another one. All they can do with it is look at it and pay from it. While you are in MP and as a seller can't use Paypal, it is not the same for buyers. They can still pay with Paypal, the money will go into your MP account.
Now if your buyer was asking you to communicate with them off Ebay or asked for you phone number, NEVER do that. it is highly likely it is a scam.
Welcome to Ebay. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

To restate the above answers, you can certainly send an invoice to a buyer from eBay, but that does not change (or add to) their payment options, which have always included PayPal as a payment source for the buyer.
You are not expected to (and should not) send an invoice from PayPal to a buyer's email address. Being asked to do that shows that you're being lured offsite, where it's easier for a scammer to send you fake payment notifications and such.
If you've accepted the "buyer's" offer, then they already have all the info they need to pay you. Keep us posted on any new developments!
